Yep, Rare and vintage are highly misused on ebay. In fact, vintage has lost all its meaning over the last 20 years or so. The word "vintage" without a date is meaningless. The word began with the wine industry obviously. It was ALWAYS followed by a date....vintage 1923, vintage 1965. Now people...

Three Months with a Homemade Corn Cob Pipe

We still use draught horses to haul and pull logs. They cause much less damage in the fields, and get places a wood whoopy cannot get. Ive got 2 Belgians and 2 Belgian Mules currently working. The mules are stronger and smarter, the horses are easier to work and dumber....they both have their...

What's Your Favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd Song?

Being the absolute #1 rock and roll band of all time, bar none.....I cannot pick a favorite song. Nor am I just going to list all of their songs in this thread. Second only to Ozzy, Lynryd Skynyrd is my second most seen band live. Ive seen every iteration of the band from the late 80s when they...

Three Months with a Homemade Corn Cob Pipe

Ive got fields of corn all around me. We grow lots of Dent corn which has huge cobs and its very starchy so its cob would probably hold together good. A month after harvest there are thousands of dried cobs just laying all over the fields. They just get turned into the soil for the next year...

Nice job! That one picture reminds me of the ebay listings where the pipe stems are upside-down. I want to ask them, "have you ever even seen how a human head is shaped?" Im not sure if its low effort or just ignorance, but it is silly. :)

Number Of Traditional Pipe Smokers In US, Canada and Europe

The sea level has risen over 40 feet just from the number of lost firearms in the last 20 years.....true story. When NYS banned full featured MSRs in 2013, I lost about 20 from my canoe!!....also a true story.

    Player's Navy Cut

Ive never seen their pipe tobacco. But smoked their cigarettes in their funny boxes while in Canada. When the drinking age in Canada was 19, but 21 in the US we would take the short drive over the border for a weekend. I must have done that 20x in the couple years between 19 and 21. This was the...

Number Of Traditional Pipe Smokers In US, Canada and Europe

I dont know where they get their numbers, but its well known in the tobacco world to NEVER disclose your tobacco usage. Whether it be to a doctor, or survey. Two things in this world I either deny or lie about are tobacco usage and gun ownership. Heck, you could go to a gun show to do a survey...

***What Are You Smoking, August 2025?***

It was natural. It smokes great but the stem is very narrow compared to the "average" stem. That's not an issue with me, but might be for some people. The stem may be wider on other shapes. Here it is new, and now. Its been smoked maybe 20x. Notice the Bones emblem went from gray to jet black even.

Well It Is Getting To Be That Time Of Year

So few horror movies have anything new these days. Barbarian was different, with some new plot twists.

Well It Is Getting To Be That Time Of Year

Horror is my favorite genre of movies. I love the classics like The Exorcist, Jaws, anything Hitchcock, The Omen, The Shinning, Halloween....and most B horror movies. Newer horror doesn't have the same feel as 1960-1980 film gives off. One that's not so new, but pretty good was "Barbarian". Its...

***What Are You Smoking, August 2025?***

When im just puffing to be puffing while I do something else, I smoke less than stellar blends sometimes. Yesterday I was talking with the neighbor, so I wasn't paying much attention to the pipe. To be fair, my last post was a bit harsh. I DO like Nutty Irishman, even if it doesn't taste like...

    I'm Apologizing Now.

What's Everyone's Opinion of the New Peterson Cobble Pipes?

I like the original rustication. Its better than their incredibly shallow blasts. But I also like the Cobble rustication. Either way, I believe ALL pipes should be blasted or rusticated unless the grain is exceptional. But that's just my opinion.

So now his apology wasn't correct either? If I get run over by a car, then the car backs over me, then the driver gives me a wedgie....I believe an " im sorry this happened to you" covers the hit, the reverse hit, and the wedgie. In Kyle's apology, I'd say apologizing for "it happening" covers...

Just like his site says under "Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges". "Refunds or exchanges at our discretion". Did he say he would send it without you returning first? That's what you say. But after further consideration, his DISCRETION was to get the tins returned first. Like he said, this was his...

And he offered the same fix as any other vendor. Where is the issue? Ive recieved dented tins from several vendors. If the seal is ok, I dont even contact them. I definitely dont go online to complain AFTER I refused a totally acceptable fix. Ok, he packaged your order not up to your liking...

***What Are You Smoking, August 2025?***

C&D Nutty Irishman in the Morgan Bones Brandy. When I first tried this tobacco I may have cussed it out and maybe slightly threatened the blender. Its still pretty bad, tastes nothing like tobacco, but its tolerable enough to keep trying it. As with the other C&D aromatic I have, Autumn Evening...

Castello’s Used Briar vs Any Old Estate Briar

Once a piece of briar is dried and cured properly, its not going to change much. There are many current makers who use older briar, some much older than 10 years. The Morgan Bones pipes are made with 60+ year old stummels that Chris finishes and stems. Jean De Toit from Pietenpauw Pipes uses...
