    It was natural. It smokes great but the stem is very narrow compared to the "average" stem. That's not an issue with me, but might be for some people. The stem may be wider on other shapes.     I like the original rustication. Its better than their incredibly shallow blasts. But I also like the Cobble rustication. Either way, I believe ALL pipes should be blasted or rusticated unless the grain is exceptional. But that's just my opinion.
