    Rad Davis is the devil

Very nice! I've been waiting for one of his pipes to just speak to me, a bent ball he had a few weeks ago almost got me to click the button. I should probably just shoot him an e-mail and have one comissioned. This one caught my eye because it was so unique.

I need an education on Meers

African meer is more dense so it's less fragile than Turkish meer. Turkish meer seems to absorb more moisture and this is what allows it to color. I hear that the African meers don't really color or are very difficult to. I believe the African meer has been depleted so your best bet on finding...

Biz Trip - Denver/Englewood Pipe Shops?

I used to live in Boulder, last time I was back I made a trip down to Edwards. The people there were great, they've got a HUGE selection of pipe tobacco. They have a nice smoking area in the back. Here's a picture of a few shelves of tinned tobacco (they have maybe 3x more tins and another room...

    How important is the stem?

I've found that after smoking my higher end pipes the bits on my other pipes seem very uncomfortable and restrictive. The bit on my PS Studio pipe is amazingly thin and very comfortable, as for best airflow I'd have to say my Michael Parks pipe is the best since he took the time to file/polish...

Gorgeous Straight Grain Vollmer and Nilsson Lovat

I had my eye on that Prince a few weeks ago. I've never seen a blast so amazingly detailed. It's too bad it went out of my price range.

    Best Pipe Store in Seattle

There's a Tobacco Patch in Bellevue also. They've got a pretty good selection of tinned tobacco, and a few cases with pipes. The Tinderbox in Tacoma has lots of bulks, a few tins and plenty of pipes. On a side note, The Seattle Pipe Club meets second Wednesday night of every month at Smokey...

    Got a Lathe Today

I've always loved woodworking and I think this will be a good foray into the hobby.

    Got a Lathe Today

Got an email last week from the woodcraft store for a lathe that was 200 dollars off. So long story short, I think my first few projects will be tampers. They were out of stock so I'll get to pick it up in a week or so.

    Can you get 50%

70% the first time 81% second time, pretty addictive game.

    For The Corn Loving Piper

BTW they are solid, so unless you have a milling machine they can not be converted into pipes.

    For The Corn Loving Piper

There's an etsy listing of a box of four of the eight holders. If you really can't live without them 10 bucks isn't bad.

    My First Ruthenberg

    Tobacco Tins....Sealed.....or NOT???

The square and round metal tins should be slightly concave from the vacuum inside. I'm not sure if there's a way to verify the seal on pull top tins besides a general visual inspection for damage. I've only had one open tin, and I'm pretty sure it's because I dropped it. The tin should not...

What are You Smoking? November, 2012

Giving Grousemoor another try in a cob. Couldn't get past the "old lady purfume" the first time round.

Meerschaums - Smooth vs. Lattice Finishes; Your Preference

I'd have to say I prefer smooth pipes mostly classic shapes. I've heard of lattice pipes breaking off and I hear they are a pain to clean if anything gets into the holes. I don't own any figurals but some of those Yanik carves have been pretty cool.

What's everyone doing on Sunday morning?

Went to the local woodcraft store to turn a pen and send it to the troops. First time turning a pen, and I hope whoever receives the pen enjoys it.
