    Meer Stem Removal

I recently purchased a meerschaum pipe and I'm not sure how to remove the stem without damaging the pipe. Does the stem push in like with a regular briar or thread out? It's an SMS meerschaum pipe.

    WHAT THE?

Cute cats, whats the plan with them? One showed up at my door a few months back very scrawny and wouldn't stop meowing. She's gotten pretty plump the last few months.

    85 years do I dare

You'll have to compare it to the Sutliff Private Stock R-Blend the notes on it say "Perfect for fans of Revelation." If it's close I'll have to get a tin, since one doesn't usually come across a tin of 85 year old baccy.

November, 2011 - What are you Smoking?

First smoke of W.O. Larsen Signature Vintage Mixture in a Nording Signature, reminds me of cotton candy in tobacco form, one of my new favorites.

    A TAD Overboard

I drove down to Portland to pick up most of them(82nd ave Pipe and Tobacco). The two Sutliff blends I got locally. So far I have only tried the Peterson Irish Oak and Sutliff Great Outdoors. The Irish Oak did have quite a bit of nicotine, very relaxing, had just a hint of oaky-woody flavor...

    A TAD Overboard

Since I can't have tobacco shipped to me in this state I decided to go on a little road trip and pick up some tobacco. I didn't have anything specific in mind just bought stuff that sounded interesting or ones I've heard good things about. Was kind of curious about flakes as you'll see. I was...

Who Makes Pretty & Funky Pipes (fancy Lucite Stems etc)

The Nording Harmony pipes have an interesting pattern to the briar but they've got regular black stems. As for fancy shapes the Ser Jacopo Insanus series is... interesting.

    Finding a Good Knife

    I have been a fan of Benchmade knives. They're pretty pricey but very well made, and I'm in love with their "axis" locking system. I own a few 940's a 705, a 960, a 771, and a 921(it's a disease I know).

    Pipe Shape VS Tobacco Type

I've heard that certain tobaccos do better with certain pipe shapes and/or bowl sizes, i.e. flakes in a smaller pipe. Are there any other tobacco types that do well in certain shapes?

    I Bought a New Watch

I always loved exhibition case backs where you can see the gears move, its too bad you don't get to see it when you're wearing the watch.

    First Time Latakia Experience

Bought some SPC Plum Pudding the other day and decided to have a go. At first the odor was a bit of a turn off, it reminded me of burning plastic or rubber and kept me away for a few days, in the end curiosity got the best of me. After lighting I was reminded of an incense smell from childhood...

    Fast Moving Technology

One of my old coworkers once told me a story where his daughter had a friend over (they were about 7 years old) her friend asked him if they could watch one of the "square movies." he was very confused and asked her to show him what she was talking about. Turns out it was a VHS tape. Later that...

    Unable to Purchase Tobacco Online

Thank you everyone for your responses, I believe it is illegal to recieve the tobacco in the mail so it wouldn't matter if I had the order sent to someone else, then had them shipped it to me. I'll have to look into having the Tinderbox order me up some stuff. Perhaps a road trip is also in order.

    Unable to Purchase Tobacco Online

Any Washingtonians in the forum? If so where do you purchase your tobacco? The nearby stores have a limited tinned selection and it is illegal to have tobacco shipped to your home in Washington state.
