    Oil the hinge. I use a drop of mineral oil and I open and close it repeatedly. You will see black stuff wash out in the oil. The action will improve.

I did not try to take the stinger out yet, it seemed pretty snug in there and I did not want to force it. I will work with it more tomorrow. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts, thank you!

    Yes, it helps to click on the original images to see the details. I assume that is why it got the Straight Grain Fiammata stamp. Is that a common stamp?
