    Those times you can't smoke...

Just got over that bug a month and a half ago. Pisses me off, but I have a healthy supply of video games to distract me from a good pipe. Drinking tea and playing video games all day long... I felt like a classy 12 year old. :puffy:

    Old Dark Fired Rusty Tins

@TrailBoss They do. Well, sort of. All the Sutliff tins and the H&H tins I've gotten have had the pull top thing.

    Bad Savinelli?

    1) No one can see or predict flaws within a block of wood, or within a pipe. 2) If the "burn out" was minor it could probably be fixed with some pipe mud. 3) If you drop something you can't be mad that it broke. Well you can lol, just not at Sav. The first $100 I spent on a pipe I sent back...

    My Birthday Gift To Myself

Great looking pipe, but holy guacamole that pipe looks gigantic. And now that I see all the pipes in the background I can see that you just like pipes with large bowls. That or the camera is playing tricks on me. Either way that's a sharp looking pipe.

    Newb pipe questions

If I understood what you're describing correctly, what you have is a stinger. Sometimes helpful, sometimes a pain in your Ass.

    Bottom Half Of The Bowl?

I have not had to battle with the vicious nicotine monster in many a moon. Not even with cigars. I fear I have bested the beast in strength and have become its master.

    What Is Pipe Mud?

Hey I'm not going to knock it until I've tried it. A little CH with some honey sounds delish. :puffy: My cobs don't even need the bottoms leveled out yet though. I've have not completely burned through the little wood extension at the bottom yet.

    Bottom Half Of The Bowl?

I love 99% of blends all the way through. Sometimes the reason that the lower parts of the bowl don't taste as good is because of the constant relights. Blends lose their flavor if overheated. If it stops tasting good then stop smoking. I've heard some of the pipe smokers of old would put a...

    H & H Classic Burley Kake

Ever tried a burley in a cob? I find it's much easier to detect with whatever flavor the cob imparts in the smoke versus a briar.

    Observations from a Greenhorn

    1) Getting it packed just right is almost impossible, but have achieved what I believe two good bowls. Check out the pipesmagazine youtube channel for some videos on different ways to pack your pipe. It takes a little getting used to. 2) Keeping it lit, throughout the bowl is very tough. Tell...

    What Is Pipe Mud?

I wonder what would happen should you heat up some honey or maple syrup and then mix in some ash to it... I think I'm gonna try that in one of my cobs. This may sound a little pansy but I don't like the idea of spitting into my pipe lol.

    What Is Pipe Mud?

Does it have to be spit? Can it be water instead? Haha.

    Enjoy International Pipe Smoking Day!

Completely forgot it was IPSD... Should have had something planned. Maybe if we tell our wives it's a holiday we'll get something special right? Right?

A Parody Ad - for Fans of the Radio Show

I'll have to give it a listen when I get home. Fun stuff posted during work hours will have to wait. I'm posting here as a placeholder to remind myself that I must come back.

    What Is Pipe Mud?

+1 Soy Cigar ash seems to be the favored ash to use, as it works well and is very plentiful and easy to capture off a cigar. There was a very long thread on pipe mud where there was some experimentation done. I'll try to find it. Interesting read. Edit: Found it...

    Tobacco Drying Out?

I got lucky and someone gifted me a 25ish cigar humidor when I started to get into cigars. Still remember the days where my father would store his cigars in the fridge in their individual aluminum capsules lol.

    Tobacco Drying Out?

I happen to love my paper towel method! Haha. Also it's because I don't own any humidifying discs.

    Tobacco Drying Out?

Another easy way to rehydrate: Get a mason jar or a jar with the latching lid. Put the tobacco in the jar. Lay a clean paper towel over the mouth of the jar. Cut out a small square of a new sponge and rinse it out a few times. Get the sponge good and wet, but not dripping wet. Place on top of...
