Kinda Embarrassing 🫣, But You Folks Are. . . .

I agree this forum is very hospitable compared to many. Not sure why I was a lurker for so many years before I joined!

    Antique Store Meers

Nice pipes and can’t beat the price. I can’t wait to see how they clean up.

    My First Briar Arrived

Congratulations, enjoy! One of my favourite pipes is a natural Nording freehand my wife bought me as a gift. It smokes great. You should get years of service out of yours.

    Peterson P-Lip Spit Collector

I don’t mind the P-lip at all. I have both and enjoy both. I have a handful of Petersons, all good smokers. Bought them early on so they weren’t informed decisions but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy either again.

    New Ryan Alden

Amazing how the technical and finish are both above and beyond! Congratulations, it’s a rare beauty!

    Me in my old age

Hmmm…most mornings I feel better in the morning but I’m not thinking that is an achievement. Especially at the end of the day!

My Grandson Gave Me a Dr. Grabow, My First One in a Long Time

Nice gift, I remember when my adult kids unexpectedly gave me a Lord of the Rings churchwarden last Christmas. I never really thought they would ever buy me a pipe. A pleasant surprise, you just never know!

    Canadian Repairs: Jack Reid (Ontario)

From my experience he runs an old school pipe business. I bought a Trypis square panel from him. He sent me the pipe and wouldn’t take payment until I received the pipe and was satisfied with it. This wasn’t even an estate, it was NOS.

Your Approach When Finding Your White Whale?

    Congratulations, enjoy!

Had To Be Done - New Baglan Estate Meer

I can see why the PAD was triggered, very nice! Enjoy!

    Tin Bids Fun Peeping.

My wife sometimes suggests I don’t look at stuff I know I won’t buy. I say, where’s the fun in that, besides I might find something I will buy. That may be what she is worried about. JK, she probably has less concern about the money I spend on pipe stuff than I do.

    Thinking about puffing

Sounds like you wanted to have some pipes and tobacco on this trip.

    New Canine Friend

Sorry to hear about the loss of your wife’s dog. That is a great pack. We have three and they keep us busy but it is wonderful! Looks like you have found a wonderful companion, you can’t beat that!

Your Approach When Finding Your White Whale?

There are two I really want, one will eventually come along I just need to be patient. The other is rare and special so who knows.

Repair 1970 Dunhill or get a new Old Boy?

That is a great lighter and it should be brought back to working condition. It is definitely worth fixing and would be a special lighter to have with its history. Go for it on the repair.

1950s-60s New Old Stock Ronson Adonis (Butane)

Nice lighter, I have one vintage lighter but am so far successfully resisting this rabbit hole. It does seem like LAD is as real as PAD and TAD.

    Vacation Stop

Always nice to have more than saddle bags to carry the important stuff.

Your Approach When Finding Your White Whale?

I agree with @TheIronMonkey if there is in your view some flaw, pass and wait. Then from there it is about the disposable cash I have at the time and if that will allow the purchase to happen. I can’t spend more than is sensible for me at a given time but the circumstances might require me to...

    Found An Old Folding-Knife Friend

Always nice to be unexpectedly reunited with an old friend. I also hate losing things (and searching for them). Most of the things that I commonly use have one place I put them and voila they are never lost. There was that one time my Corona Old Boy fell out of my pocket and was lost for two...

    Rain - Love or Hate?

I can appreciate and enjoy it within limits that have been mentioned but recognize it has the power to move right past love if it wants to. It is a fickle partner and my love is NOT unconditional.
