    Tobacco Blend Recommendations?

I am planning on ordering from pipesandcigars.com (I plan on getting a pound of 965). They are back ordered on Pirate Kake but have Black House in bulk and I'll try some, thanks. edit: I do occasionally like black cavendish and see that Black House has some in it, intriguing!

    Tobacco Blend Recommendations?

I will be placing an order tomorrow, this is what I have picked out so far and was wondering if anyone had additional recommendations? My favorite blend is Dunhill 965. I'm inexperienced but know I enjoy smoke and spice. I'm replenishing my supply of these: Dunhill My Mixture 965 Dunhill Early...

    Dunhill London Mixture

My favorite blend is 965, and I am also a big fan of Nightcap and EMP. However I picked up a tin of London Mixture last week and haven't enjoyed it as much- It is pretty moist though and I plan on letting it sit for awhile and trying again.

Thank you for sharing this. Based upon the chart I decided to try Gaslight and am very happy with it. I think I'll pick up some Escudo next.

I just made up a few using regular address labels, better than my chicken scratches anyway:

Show Off Your Vintage Tins Here!

I have this tin that was my Father-in-law's. I am guessing it is from the late 40's, it is labeled for use by US Military and he was a Marine in WW2. I use it to carry my pipe cleaners and such. I like the artwork on it: Edited to add: if anyone knows more about when this would have been made I...

    Hardcastle Royal Bruyere

I bought a new pipe yesterday, a Hardcastle Royal Bruyere straight billiard with a saddle bit, made in London. The pipe was new and the bowl had a carbon coating inside. The wood grain is nice with lots of birdseye figure. I've only smoked one bowl out of it so far, (Dunhill 965) and it is...

    Colorado Roll Call

I had a chance to sit and smoke in the lounge at Edward's on Broadway today. It was my first time enjoying it and I had a great time. It's a nice place to enjoy a smoke with new friends in a relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere. If anyone hasn't had a chance I would heartily recommend it. The guys...

    Discovering English Blends

Well, I picked up a new pipe today and tried Dunhill's 965 in it. I'm very happy with the pipe and the tobacco. The pipe is a Hardcastle straight billiard with a smooth finish, saddle bit and some nice bird's eye figure. I'll post a picture in the pipe forum when I have a chance to take one. It...

    Colorado Roll Call

I hope it's ok to bump this old thread instead of making a new one. I'm a new forum member, been smoking a pipe for about a year. I also go to Edwards, and I live in Castle Rock- between Denver and CO Springs. I'd like to meet other pipe smokers in the area and swap tobacco. Does anyone know of...

    Discovering English Blends

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'll need to smoke more of these Dunhill mixes, in a couple different pipes and try to pick out what exactly I like about them. I will also have that Sutliff English sampler on Wednesday that I can start tasting. In the past I've enjoyed Captain Black, but...

    Discovering English Blends

Hello all, I'm new to the forum and have been enjoying all of the great information here. I've been dabbling in aromatics the past few years, but recently decided I wanted to see what else was out there. I've read a lot about the English blends and wanted to try them, so I headed down to...

    Acronyms?

Thanks everyone, I didn't know this TAD was catching- I fear I may be coming down with a case based upon my recent internet order with expedited shipping!

    Acronyms?

Hello all, thank you for contributing to the wealth of information available on this site. I am new to the hobby of pipe smoking and associated discussions. In my searches on these forums I often come across acronyms beyond regular 'net speak such as AFAIK, etc. Definitions for these are...

    New Members, Introduce Yourself!

Greetings, I just joined the forum after being directed here by many of my google searches for information. I am from Colorado and have been smoking pipes off and on for a few years. I recently inherited some old pipes from my father-in-law that I have been enjoying, (he was a no-nonsense man so...

    Expert Toby Analyzer Needed!

I'm new to this forum, and I hope it's OK to resurrect an old thread. I just picked up some of this from a local cigarette store, (it was the only pipe tobacco they had that wasn't strongly aromatic). I spoke with the owner and he said he ordered it awhile ago from Altadis, but he didn't know...
