    I smoke as much as I want to, If its only a quarter inch, its only a quarter inch, if I want to smoke it down, I smoke as far down as I can, If I cant get it to the bottom, ill dump some ash out, and relight it. If it tastes bad, I stop, if it tastes ok, I go down as far as I can

    Good question, the only problem I could see is that they fill the outside of the bowl with plaster and finish it AFTER they turn it, and make it into a bowl. It would be a pain in the ass to do that all yourself. I guess if you wanted natural cobs it would be perfect though
