How long would 10 lbs of tobacco last you?

Looking over the posts in this thread alone it is easy to see that most of us pipe smokers do not have an uncontrollable habit. (Other than always looking to buy something different.) I wish more people could understand that about pipe smoking. I am about a 3 or 4 bowl a week man.

How long would 10 lbs of tobacco last you?

By my scale at work my Dr. Grabow "Lark" holds a little less than 1.5 grams of Kentucky Gold. You can look the Lark up, it has a rather small bowl, I could easily see some holding 2x as much. So if we give it a range of 1.5g to 3g depending on pipe. 10lb = 4535 grams So a range of 3023 bowls -...

    My Eearly Morning Smoke

I hope to look at this picture in the hot steamy days of June or July, when I need to cool off. That's a nice pipe and all, but it just looks to cold otherwise! lol

Man, am I glad I found you guys!

That some start you got there! Looks like your dad made use of his pipes, I hate to see a pipe unappreciated.

    It's Hip to be Square

Hip? I thought I was being sexy! I may have to rethink my entire way of life, now that I know what people are really thinking of me...

    How Clean is your Pipe?

I have found that "ash tray" is not a flavor I am drawn to. From resent conversations, it seems my wife is not fond of it either. So me and the pipe get a pretty good cleaning when conditions dictate.

Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit (pics)

We eat a few rabbits, fried with gravy. But I have not hunted them in a few years. But I raise a few to eat. I do love my pipe during squirrel season, something I recall from my childhood hunts with my uncle and grandfather. Great pictures, and a good looking pot of rabbit.

How long would 10 lbs of tobacco last you?

I have several 1/2 pint jelly jars of sample tobacco from a local B&M. I am 90% sure they hold right at 2 oz. Even with several samples with different cuts, there was just a little difference in the volume that 2 oz took up. If I am correct, then there is no way that anything like an average...

A Wonderful Visit @ The Pipe Den

That was a pretty thoughtful gift, maybe you need to rethink that "Ex". :-)

    Prince Albert Sample Tin

I would leave him a phone number and a price you are happy with. Let him do the "thinking". I never knew they made that size either. I wish I could find just one of the 100's my grandfather must have had.

    Pipe Reviews?

With reviews of just about anything I find the most value when I see people repeating the same points over and over, bad or good. So one guy talking about one pipe is interesting, kind of like someone telling me about their vacation or Holiday. So unless something shockingly bad is mentioned it...

Show Off Your Dr. Grabow Pipes Here!

Nothing fancy or old, all these have be bought new in the last year or so. My youngest son came in for Christmas with his new bride. (He is military) I let him pick and he took the bent lark on the bottom. They all smoke great, only type pipe my father ever owned.

    “Seasoning" a bowl

Folks that sell pipes sure like that strategy. :D I have given this some thought, I know my grandfather only had a couple of pipes, in fact only one that I know of. So all the tobacco he smoked was in that one pipe. But as long as I knew him he only smoked one brand. I think that may be true...

    Nausea

People sure have different likes. I hear so many people talking up the Frog, but to me its as close to pond scum as I want to get! I have had the light head myself, I don't smoke much at all, so I am hoping I never really build up a tolerance. :-)

    Smoking a Cob

Truth be told a cob is really all we ever need... But that is what a hobby is all about, getting stuff you want, not stuff you need.

I HATE to order online. I will and have driven hours out of my way to avoid online buying anything.
