A Wonderful Visit @ The Pipe Den

I received a gift certificate from my Ex for The Pipe Den in Vero Beach this year. I happened to actually BE in Vero Beach for the Holiday and was able to stop by this well established emporium.
I am going to be posting pics after I get them from my Ex's camera to my computer via email, but I just wanted to mention and 'shout out!' about this store, and its management team of Bob and Sue Marshbanks.
This was actually my first time in a B&M Pipe store and I was able to look at some really amazing variety and quantities of pipes. I was blown away and I know that I would need several visits to fully appreciate his offerings.
If you're ever near Vero (it's on the west side of the Indian River, downtown) do yourself a favor and stop in @ The Pipe Den. You'll see the large wooden Indian guarding the front door right there on the sidewalk.
Bob and Sue have been operating for about 40 years and the pipes they've amassed, the stories they have and the ambiance of their business are the likely reason for success.

Let's just say I could have had a pipe by pretty much anyone who ever made pipes and the pipes he has on display are overwhelming.

I just bought some tobacco in the end and went into the humidor with him to have him select for me a cigar.

In that department, I'm totally green and don't want to develop a taste for em because I'm cheap.

I am anticipating smoking this here Casa Cuba Flor Fina Santiago, but I'll have to research tip cutting and such.

The visit to the store was part of the gift, and the owners couldn't have been more willing to share their time and expertise, which is a phenomenon in itself.

Nice shop! I think I'd be in trouble if my local B&M sold all that stuff. The standup ashtrays are great.

Here's something Bob Marshbanks told me about Dunhill's iconic white dot. He said they go all the way through the top of the stem. I did not know that.

seagullplayer, yeah, it was a nice gift. I've been trying to get her to smoke a pipe since I learned of its health benefits to no avail. She is well aware of my new obsession. I won't comment further, since I've provided her the link to this thread so she could see how the forum responded to my little commentary and SHE took the pics.
