Rusticated Billiard - I Made My First Pipe

That's the most impressive first time pipe I've ever seen. Very nice. Nicely shaped and nice rustication. The rustication looks a lot like a sandblast that's been worn smooth over time.

    Your Most Expensive Pipe?

I guess mine would be my Charatan Executive straight grain billiard, that I bought new in 1966 for $60. It has thick walls and is a cool smoking pipe. It's one of my better smoking pipes. The other would be a 1957 Dunhill Root Briar Liverpool, which I managed to buy new on an enlisted man's...

    Your Least Expensive Pipe?

I went to a tag sale back in the early 1970's on the last day and the sign said everything is half price. I spotted a Muniemaker cigar box with a bunch of pipes in it that was marked $4. I immediately spotted the white dot on the stem of one of the pipes, looked through the rest, stayed...

The previous comments, especially Kashmir's hit all the bases. I always have a cup of tea while smoking inside. I found it the best thing to drink while smoking.

    JFK With Pipe, Circa 1963

Great pictures, numbersix. Thanks for posting. I had never heard of him smoking a pipe, but I have heard that he didn't smoke his cigars in public to avoid the image of the stereotypical cigar smoking politician. Now the question is what blends did JFK and Jackie smoke.

Thanks, guys. I realized after I posted that I didn't put it in the general forum. Brassonly, What is the significance of your name? I'm wondering because my hometown was the center of the brass industry in the United States before plastics replaced brass.

Five Recent Restorations + Pipe Photography

Nice looking pipes, especially the Dunhill and the Oom Paul. I would love to have seen some pictures of them before the restoration. They all look like new.

That's a nice looking pipe. I think it has the ideal proportions for a billiard. Nice grain, too.
