In the Dawg House...
Thanks guys! Bulldogs have always been one of the shapes that appeal to me, but I found that there weren't any straight ones in my collection, so it was back to the hunt. This is, in my opinion, the truly timeless shape of Pipes. -

Funky Smelling Meerschaum
Beeswax and solvents that the Carver used on Block Meerschaum Pipes should go away after the first few smokes of a new Pipe. Another possibility is that the Pipe isn't Block but pressed Meerschaum. If the Pipe is an estate, then it could have been used by a previous owner to burn aroma... -

This first one is Baki's spin on the English Bulldog... http://pipesmagazine.com/members/fred/album/picture/1998 This second one is from the Peterson Sherlock Holmes Meerschaum series, and called the Baker Street... These are not easy to find, but I had help from Bob Gates from Pipes&Cigars... -
