    Thanks guys! Bulldogs have always been one of the shapes that appeal to me, but I found that there weren't any straight ones in my collection, so it was back to the hunt. This is, in my opinion, the truly timeless shape of Pipes.

    Funky Smelling Meerschaum

    Beeswax and solvents that the Carver used on Block Meerschaum Pipes should go away after the first few smokes of a new Pipe. Another possibility is that the Pipe isn't Block but pressed Meerschaum. If the Pipe is an estate, then it could have been used by a previous owner to burn aroma...

    This first one is Baki's spin on the English Bulldog... http://pipesmagazine.com/members/fred/album/picture/1998 This second one is from the Peterson Sherlock Holmes Meerschaum series, and called the Baker Street... These are not easy to find, but I had help from Bob Gates from Pipes&Cigars...
