    A real man's hat

HaHa Bradley, love the pink stocking! This post really tells the variety and tastes of the different folks in our forum. This is another type of hat I've worn in the past. I was still a kid in '75.

    Pipe Museums?

I can't remember exactly where or it's name, but on the coast of South Carolina there is a small museum dedicated to old firearms, mostly muzzle loaders. My wife and I came across it in the mid 70's. It had a section with meerschaum pipes.... Not very big but had some very nice exhibits.

    Question about resting?

You'll get different trains of thought on resting and I've been doing something different for some time. I may smoke the same brier all day (6 - 8 bowls) while I'm out and about, then clean my pipe and put it away for a week or so. The trick is to use plenty of pipe cleaners during the day.

Royal Yacht... my not so royal experience.

First time I tried it (35 years ago or so) I didn't care for it either. At the time I was smoking "drug store" tobacco's (like Borkum Riff and Carter Hall). For the last couple of decades I smoke non-aero's almost exclusively, but enjoy RY when outside and I'm working with my hands. For some...

Any Great B&M Stores Near S/A or Austin?

While at the Hill Country Humidor, try a couple ounces their "San Antonio Rose" blend if you like English. I tried to get more after I got back home (Arkansas) but they don't do on-line orders. I plan to get 3 or 4 pounds next time I'm down there....

    My Latest Meer

It appears to be block meerschaum (Turkish) to me, and I have seen a few metal tenon-mortise connectors. Although it wouldn't be my first choice, there's nothing wrong with them if it's tight. I could be wrong, but I'm willing to bet that the case isn't made of plastic....

    Reading Tobacco Attributes

I don't use the individual reviews, I use the averaging blocks on Strength, Flavoring, Taste and Room Note. The one I use also has how many rated it with one star, through four stars. It gives you a good average of what a large percentage thinks.

    Reading Tobacco Attributes

When I'm trying to decide on trying a tobacco I've never had before, I always look at an on-line independent site. The reviews on the retailers site are helpful, but usually one mans view/taste. The independent sites have several, if not hundreds of reviews from pipe smokers from all over the globe.
