2011 Kansas City Pipe and Tobacco Show

I'll have to try to make this one. Depends on the job if I'll have the $$$. I sure missed the Chicago show this year.

Post Your Picture With a Pipe.

A few pictures of me in my short time smoking pipes. My Son and I. He's older than he looks. An Ohio Trip. In the Ozarks. On a river trip. I like my cigars too.

Missus got U on the short leash?

I was lucky to marry a woman that puts up with my purchases. Of course I also sell estates on the side and have done well at time. I've made several purchases of things for her with some of the profits and that helps keep her calm. She has also been very easy going with my purchasing tools and...

    "Who Let the Dogs Out?!"

I love Bulldog and Rhodesian pipes too. I have a few. Always been somewhat of an argument which is which. Here are a few examples of a few of mine. Pipe by Ronny Thuner of Sweden Pipe by Mark Tinsky A nice Meershaum from the late 1800's A churchwarden by Ronny Thuner of Sweden An old...

    No. 2 A volcano

Thanks guys, I appreciate the positive remarks. I'm just getting started back and did make a few pipes in the past. Perhaps I'll add those to my, somewhat newby, blog. You can expect to see more of my pipes here in the near future.

    From the new Workshop!

Lonestar, I started a blog with some pictures of the shop and also stuff coming out of it. I'm going to take pictures of some of the tools that I use to make pipes and post those. I'm new at the blog stuff, but I'll get better. I did the rustication using a dremel.

You know you have a good dog when...

Good looking dog and a good story. We have a dog doesn't like horse play either. But she isn't big enough to de-pants anyone.

    cleaning Estate Pipes

There are many different aspects of cleaning up an estate. If the ones you have are in good condition, then cleaning them up will be easy enough. An alcohol soak in the bowl followed by a lot of alcohol soaked pipe cleaners and even Q-tips will have those pipes cleaned up quickly. They probably...

    From the new Workshop!

Thanks for the positive remarks guys. Lonestar, I too think that I could have done the transition a bit different. But, I've not made many pipes and I'm just learning. I'll get better as I make more. I have lots of practice briar, so should get plenty of practice in the future.

    From the new Workshop!

I've been working on the new shop and now that it's done, thought I better get a pipe made. So here it is. It's not made from the best briar (had lots of flaws) and the stem is just a reworked pre-made with an added acrylic piece. The rustication is just something I did quick and the extreme...

    New Members, Introduce Yourself!

I've known about Pipes Magazine for some time and have met a couple of the people involved including the moderator here, "Bob" I started smoking pipes back in December of 04 and have enjoyed it. I tend to jump in with both feet in just about everything I do. Soon after taking up the pipe I did...
