    Anyone in East Tennessee?

There's one in Bristol, too - but I think it's on the VA side of State Street, so it doesn't really count, but if you live in Upper East TN and shop in VA for sales-tax purposes, it could be handy. I bought my first "real" pipe there in the late '80s when the store was in the train depot.

What is Your Sweetest Tobacco, Your Dessert !!

McClelland's Virginia Woods smells like cookies baking. Tastes good, too - sweet, not goopy. Nice aro if you're into that sort of thing... I find that a good straight VA, sipped slowly, provides a nice subtle sweetness.

    Chardonnay After All These Years

It's best used for making champagne, I think. Mmmm.

GL Pease Triple Play -- (Very) Brief Review

I love JackKnife, but I only like Triple Play, but I had expected my reactions to be the opposite. The last tin of TP I had was gone in about two weeks, so the last of it hadn't even been opened as long as Pitchfork suggests before smoking any of it. Based on this, it's on my list to try again.

New Fikri Baki Meerschaum on the Way...

Mmmm - love that stem! I've been avoiding meers because it seems that everybody is making acrylic stems for them - this is a revelation.

How Do You Smoke a "Twist?"

I smoked a couple of ounces of the SG XX Black Twist in the same pipe over the course of several months. It ghosted the daylights out of that pipe -- two alcohol cleanings and a retort-cleaning later, that XX flavor came through some VA flake I was smoking last night. Not a friendly ghost, this!

    Tame Your Erinmore

I only opened the tin because I needed to try it both before- and after baking. (Erinmore was new to me.) After pulling a flake out, I covered the tin in aluminum foil, put the lid back on, and folded the foil around the tin and put it in the oven. Of course, having done that once, I'll bake...

Did I Get a Good Deal?

Looks like an excellent deal to me, too! Happy puffing.

    Tame Your Erinmore

Thanks to The Old Cajun (and, inter alia, Fred Hanna's amusing article about this topic), I baked a tin of Erinmore Flake and have now had both baked- and unbaked flakes. I enjoyed the unbaked right-out-of-the-tin floral/citrus aroma so much I was hesitant about baking the tin (I like Lakelands...
