it smokes fine. Blowing through the bowl is harder than bringing air to the stem, but I had a bowl last night and it was flawless. Unfortunately, if I ever smoked too hot or didn't dry the tobacco properly, the steel tube would get clogged. That tube will not accept a standard pipe cleaner...

Meet Franken pipe. She ain't breaking again at that failure point. This is idiot proof. See the metal insert supporting the structure from within, and heat shrink from the outside.

    Help This Pipe

Yes. I ordered some 3mm OD 2mm ID SS tube from Amazon and some heat shrink. The plan is see if it fits -- if it doesn't I will soften the meer and drill out enough to insert the tubing. Then I will epoxy around the tubing. If you or anyone else have a better idea than JB weld let me know...

How could I have been so naive. I should be able to clean the pipe pretty well with oxy clean also...

    Help This Pipe

I feel like I should also mention that, while I lost this pipe today, I also found an old fishing tackle box with a favorited knife and needle nosed which I had previously assumed as lost to night this summer.. Funny how things can appear to balance out.

    Help This Pipe

I'm honestly going to get the smallest good metal tubing I can find and if I need to expand the airway by half a millimeter I'm willing to put a drill in this pipe and see what happens. But yeah last resort. It's not worth it anymore as life has given me bigger fish to fry

    Cracked My Paykoc

I feel like I'm about done since this type is so gross but it would be a great work pipe that I wouldnt care about getting greasy or dusty

    Help This Pipe

Hopefully I don't have any more broken pipes but next time I'll chill out and ask the forums before rushing into it

    Help This Pipe

It is indeed. I'll hold onto it and turn the bowl into a Christmas ornament. Good thing the company replaced this one.

I'll trust your guy's judgement. I've wasted enough steel stick anyway. Too bad. I loved the lattice work. For anyone curious this was the original failure.

    Help This Pipe

Good morning all. Let me know what you guys think. Is it time to give up on this one? The pipe has been discolored since wiping the JB weld away with Everclear. The junction doesn't come together as perfectly as it did but the JB weld seems to flake off with relative ease. She's pretty enough...

    Cracked My Paykoc

Yeah no yeah. JB Weld ain't it. It says an hour cure time but maybe I should have waited longer. Might be done with this project until the summer...

    Cracked My Paykoc

Probably by next week. I don't intend to use it unless this pipe is a total failure. This new mend should work much better. Silly to think the first would last. Since I wiped the pipe clean with ever clear, the epoxy may have had a reaction and dyed the white into pink. It's very unique now lol.

    Cracked My Paykoc

Wait the mend I made just broke. I think the JB weld has to ring around the crack so it can bond to itself. Didn't do a great job of bonding to the meer and itself. I will try shrink wrap tomorrow.

    Cracked My Paykoc

Thank you Sir. I love the look of it honestly. I know I'm a series of mended pieces myself, and this pipe and I have now come together after falling apart. I will post the replacement pipe on this thread. They let me choose one with a silver band since they were out of lattice Canadians.

***What Are You Smoking, February 2024?***

Smoking St. Bruno Flake in my home-restored Paykoc Canadian Lattice Meer. This one is probably best for fall or summer..its really like eating an apple off the tree.. absolutely scrumptious but not what I want for this cold damp.
