    Everyman

Wow Mo! That is so nice to get your father's pipe and maybe another collection also. My first pipe was an Everyman 215. It was a very good one that has been lost for many years. Wish that I had it back. Enjoy yours. :puffpipe:

    Falcon

LEACHA: Try finding used Viking pipes. The stem is removable and can be replaced. They are not made any longer but are available. Happy puffing.

    Rubber tips?

I ave a combination of strong clinch and very sharp teeth. I have ruined too many stems the replacements of which were just not the same. I use them on all my pipes. I am experimenting with cut to length tubing.

Nasty sensation in the throat when inhaling tobacco

Do you get that sensation when you do not inhale? I have found that some tobacco blends irritate my throat. I do not know why but I just sell or trade them off and avoid them.

What To Do With All This Tobacco?

I am intrigued by the idea of metalized bags. I did find a source for them at $.12 apiece but in 1000 quantities. Any one find a better source. Or, anyone want to split up an order? NEVER MIND! :puffy:

What is your definition of Heavy Pipe Smoking

I think that "Heavy pipe smoking" is entirely personal. I have never over 50 years of piping done more that 3 bowls a week. One is more like it because my mouth needs the rest. At most now I consume at a rate of a bowl every 10 days. I do find myself thinking about it more that that and planing...

    New smoker having trouble tasting...

Donatello: Puffing hard when relighting and many of them will make for a too hot smoke. Wet tobacco or poor technique can cause the pipe to go out. Experience will eventually help you refine your technique. You might tell us what tobacco you are smoking. That would help us advise you. Are they...

    Routine Cleaning Question.

Sounds like the stem can be cleaned with dish washing detergent. This sounds crazy but how about white gas? It is a good solvent and should evaporates easily. I would do only the shank and let it dry a long time. Or, at least until you do not smell it.

Taylor Kirk-Milke on Radio Show of August 5, 2014

Thanks for the comments on the Larsen pipes Brian. Two days before the radio show I cracked a tin of W. O. Larsen Signature. I chose a seldom used W. O. Larsen Copenhagen 3 Straight Grain that I purchased as an estate pipe in 1973. That was a perfect match. Wonderful! I am going to enjoy this...

Vacation Observations - Casinos and San Francisco

    1. The only casino I have been to was at the "Big Show" in Reno. I did not feel comfortable smoking a pipe there so I went to the Tinder Box. 2. I stay out of big cities. 3. To bad. You missed some good shops between SF (SJ) and Sacramento. Maybe next time. 4. At least you found something to...
