    G. L. Pease Variety

Me, too! It's hard for me to build up any GLP stock because those tins just keep popping open... I think I'll dedicate an entire TAD order to JackKnife. I wish it came in quantities larger than two ounces, though.

    P&C Customer Appreciation Day

My order just arrived - same as 05venturer's photo above, down to the "unfinished" Eaton. I'm not an aro guy, so it's nice to have some of these on hand for my friends who are, or to use around the house when we have company. I'm smoking the LL7 right now, and my wife really likes it. It's...

Why is Everyone Trying to Change Me! (RANT)

Dr. Watson, I think we're twins separated at birth. I'm 40 and have most of the same complaints. My response to the cell phone problem, though, is not to own one. That cuts down on the bother a bit.

Johann Sebastian Bach Thoughts on Pipe Smoking

You're too gracious - I wasn't trying to "win" or show anyone up, just discuss something I love. It's exciting to see what a lot of different topics come up here in the forums and I'm not an expert on anything (except my own opinion, as Brian Levine says).

Johann Sebastian Bach Thoughts on Pipe Smoking

Wagner could -- he even wrote a short novel about Beethoven, with the intent that it would make apparent the beginnings of his own thoughts about music. Until 1851, Beethoven's was the only portrait on Wagner's wall (this from a letter to Liszt), and he transcribed for piano Beethoven's ninth...

Johann Sebastian Bach Thoughts on Pipe Smoking

She had the state police in Connecticut close the road so she could record The Well-Tempered Clavier in her living room over a day or two. I think you can draw a straight line from Bach through Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert to Wagner. Not that you have to like Wagner, of course.

    One Pipe - One Tobacco??

I have pipes that do better with flakes than anything else, so I don't smoke anything else in those. Just yesterday, I had an absolutely amazing bowl of C&D's Star of the East in a Boswell that I've been using for English blends. It was beyond wonderful. I like SotE but it had never tasted...

    How Old Were You?

I tried my dad's Red Man when I was 7, in the car on a winding mountain road. He didn't know what had happened. I didn't know what had hit me. I thought my mother was going to kill us both. First cigarette around 10 or 11 - Camel unfiltered. Corncob pipe followed, as did Skoal. I am now only...

'Smoking Opponents Take Fight Outside in Chattanooga'

Precisely. To get to my job, I have walk past 100 yards of school buses idling and discharging 2000 students. The clouds of diesel exhaust are suffocating, and I always think about the particulates in the exhaust versus what a tobacco pipe produces. Drives me crazy.
