    Question about Savinellis

Personally, I don't care too much for the colourful stem on the dublin so I'd go for the stack. I like this one even better, though: Can I assume you're about to make someone very happy? Jan

    Favorite Pipe Smoking Musician

As for favourite pipe-smoking musician my vote goes to Duck Dunn. Played with all the great names, including Elvis. Speaking of Elvis, I was very interested to see a Longchamp in 'real life'. I have a poster advertising their pipes, and they seem to have specialized in these leather-covered...

    New Pipe!

Very nice poker. Looks well-made, too. Never heard of Westminster, though.

    Don't friend Tonymacolo

Het states Yaounde, U.S.A. as his home town. I'm no expert on American topography, but the only Yaounde I know of is in Cameroon. Of course they could have a Little Italy over there, too...

    Cherry Aromatic Tobacco

Fruit is something you eat as a dessert. It should not be lit and smoked, we have better flora for that. Try olfactory illusion: I've heard some of those poor people who don't smoke a pipe describe the fragrance of fine Perique as lemony fresh...

    Removing Cake From A Meer

A piece of fine grade sandpaper will take care of any excess cake. I have a piece glued to a wooden dowel and every now and again I use it to smooth out the build-up. Works fine!

    Most Expensive Pipe I've Seen

Whether or not this particular Upshall is worth ten grand I wouldn't know. I know I have seen pipes I would pay an absurd amount of money for, if I could afford it. And there it is: if you want it and you have the budget for it, why not? Even at this price, if you manage to lovingly smoke it for...

    What's your favorite beer?

As for lager, there's none better than Brand. With a history going back as far as 1370, it's one of the hoppiest lagers you'll find with a very crisp taste. And as for special beers, there are so many I find it hard to pin a favourite. Rochefort 8 would be high on my list, Gulden Draak too, but...

Maker of Big Ben, Porsche & Hilson Pipes Declares Bankruptcy

To be frank: Elbert Gubbels & Co. (since 1870) never really ventured into the world of luxury pipes. The Big Ben range, their bread and butter, was always a no-nonsense brand. Decent pipes, good smokers but no frills, starting at maybe $30, with the high end models at $80-90 at most. PAD may...

Maker of Big Ben, Porsche & Hilson Pipes Declares Bankruptcy

What mick says about Hilson is also true for Porsche: the first Porsches were made by Vauen, and are of a very different construction than the later ones made by Gubbels. You can tell in a glance, because the Gubbels-version has a screwed-down ring on top of the bowl. The originals are fine...

    What is your Iconic Pipe?

It's certainly more in a classic style than this beast:

Do you smoke when you drive?

Smoking, fiddling with your stereo, making calls, fixing your make-up, they're all taking your eyes off from where they should be: on the road. I've had to use the infamous jaws of life on quite a few vehicles whose drivers were momentarily distracted. When you drive a 2-ton piece of steel...

    What is your Iconic Pipe?

Sorringowl, I'll shoot some more come next daylight and with a bit more effort put into it.

Your favorite Peterson pipe and pics

I gave my 309 away because I couldn't get used to the lip. Now this monster awaits breaking in: A huge pipe by my standards, but I love the shape.

    What is your Iconic Pipe?

If it has to be an iconic shape, this Upshall would have to be the one: or tmy favourite, this Reiner:

What are you Smoking? March 2012

One of the last bowls of Caledonian #466 in a Reiner.

Correct pronunciation of a pipe brand

Apparently even two native speakers can't agree on correct pronunciation... Honestly, Juvat, when you go down to the sea, do you pronounce 'meer' like in 'mare'?

    What's the Deal With Rustication?

Achieving a fine blast is as much of an art as is creating a well rusticated pipe. I am aware of that, and I'll choose my words more carefully next time.

That third pipe in Ohin's post... Very nice!
