Iso is fine. Just don't soak it with alcohol because it will soften up the meer.
I also heard hot water can loosen the cake enough to wipe it out with a paper towel. Not sure if that was ok for Meers or not.
Might want to sweep through Fred's Meer articles and see if anything is mentioned.

I'll probably do that. I just wanted to see everyone elses opinion. Did you look at what I got? I'm quite proud of it. The crown jewel of my collection

I have a few meers. And iso is fine on a paper towel or Q-tips. If it gets too difficult to get out you can take a small piece of emory and sand it out just be careful not to go to deep.

A piece of fine grade sandpaper will take care of any excess cake. I have a piece glued to a wooden dowel and every now and again I use it to smooth out the build-up. Works fine!

You have to be very careful with sandpaper as you can change the shape of the inside of the rim. I suggest a standard reamer and water with paper towels. I have a few meers and have read every article I can find on care for a meer. And most agree to never use alcohol on the inside or outside for that matter as alcohol blocks the absorption ptocess that makes meer so great. Use water.

Water os the way to go, it will soften the cake enough to remove it, but don't saturate the bowl as it can get soft. Never use alcohol because of the risk of getting it on the outer bowl surface and removing any of the beeswax which is needed for proper coloring and aging.
