Cleaning The Rim Of Your Pipe Bowl

When restoring pipes I start with the traditional saliva method. After I have done this a couple of times and let it soak in, I take a full exacto knife and ever so gently scratch, what has become loose, away. I may even use dental tools. The list of what I do to clean the rim goes on. I will...

Grain Alcohol or 99% Isopropyl for Retort Cleaning?

I use both solutions. Honestly, no harm is going to be brought to you by using either of these. Many people use both, and yet no one has experienced any negative side effects other then MAYBE a bad taste, but even that sounds like a long shot to me. Maybe my palate isn't sensitive enough. Use...

    Smoking in a "Cigar" Lounge

More then likely they are licensed as a cigar bar which doesn't permit the smoking of pipes or any form of tobacco other then cigars. Weird laws I guess. The B&M closest to me is like that. -Frank

Help With IDing Brand Of Pipe

It looks like a Boswell. It's strange though because Boswell pipes usually have the year the pipe was made engraved in the bottom as well. Maybe it's an earlier version or one that wasn't meant to go out into the public? -Frank

    Old Fogy Lighters

Don't care what I use to light my pipes. Just want the baccy burning so I can enjoy it! Sometimes I use my Old Boy, occasionally my Zippo, other times I use a match or a disposable lighter. It just all depends on what I'm in the mood for or what's more convenient at the time. -Frank

    My Definition of "a Sip"

I see merits to both theories. Personally, I am in the quiet contemplative event boat, but I certainly do enjoy my pipe quite a bit more when it is not the only thing I focus on. To me, it depends on the day, the pipe, and the tobacco as to whether or not my "sip"/enjoyment of the pipe will be...
