    Pipe Cleaner Miser...

Not picking a fight here... pipe cleaners are 100% cotton and mild steel - both highly biodegradable, and not anything like a 1,000 year plastic bottle. We have much easier and more effective ways to be environmentally conscious than reusing pipe cleaners, so I don’t think this is parallel...

    Pipe Cleaner Miser...

To each there own, but recycling pipe cleaners is like recycling toilet paper to me...not doing it for the $0.017 savings...

    Zippo

I’ve got a few Zippos with both pipe insets and standard inserts. I also bought a butane pipe insert. I like the Zippo pipe inserts, and you get all things Zippo from it. I don’t really like the butane insert (thunderbird or Zpipe) - might as well just use a Bic or a knock off angled lighter...

    Tobacco Pipe Futures

Is the same as To me. Tools... Some are better made, some have a long history, some are highly polished, some are rough, some may be one of a kind. Most will either burn tobacco, or loosen a 9/16 nut equally well. But I am not at the high fringes of this hobby/sport/investment pursuit. No...

Peretti Credit Card Security Likely Still An Issue

I’m no real help here, but I had the good fortune to be IN the LJ Peretti store at 2 1/2 Park Plaza on Black Friday. No Black Friday sales or anything, just happened to be in Boston for the Thanksgiving weekend, and needed to visit. Stocked up, used my credit card, and all is good, so far...

Interests Besides Pipes / Pipe Smoking?

All in (and relating) on your Triumphs (have 2 “newer” versions), outdoor stuff, archery, and kids stuff! ? 5 is a big number...I’m one of five...?

Interests Besides Pipes / Pipe Smoking?

I classify pipe smoking as a "hobby" or "interest" because I generally group my waking hours into only two parts: Work/Job: something I need to expend time and energy on to either provide money or save me from paying someone else. Hobby/Interest: something I don't need to expend time and energy...

How Many Blends Do You Have In Rotation

25+ in jars and therefore in rotation!

Interests Besides Pipes / Pipe Smoking?

Reading these 57 posts confirms the very diverse nature of pipe smokers! I am NOT surprised... To add: motorcycles!, bicycles (road, cx, mountain, townies, and electric), hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, weight training & power lifting, reading (tons & volumes), music, my...

You Know What I Love About This Forum?

OP - great post, and to the point. Agreed! Hope we can keep it this way - pipes, tobacco, and related matter. Plenty of OTHER places to delve into anyone’s other “hobbies”!?

    Your First Pipe & Tobacco

Captain Black Regular in a Dr. Grabow Lark circa 1994...? (bought at the local Genovese drug store - long gone now)

    Is Golf Fading?

Used to play a bunch. Major time suck though...and nobody (business wise or otherwise) seems to have the time or interest these last few years. I see it waning. As mentioned in a few prior post, I’d also rather shoot clays, jump on my motorcycle, launch a few arrows, go mountain biking, go for...

Peterson Irish Army - Bent Pipe

Looks like this thread goes back a few months, but everyone ”needs” just one more pipe for that very specific task or circumstance! I suggest looking at the shape and specs of the Peterson 999 with Army mount considering what you describe. I have one, and is great for the car. Rather shallow...

    Happy Veterans Day Weekend

And I greatly appreciate your continued service! Big family of veterans and active duty here... Interestingly, I was an Army Air Defense Artillery guy...an instantly recognized the F-14 in your first post...(as friendly!)? You flying that one?

    Happy Veterans Day Weekend

Mathematical coincidence... I get your drift....but this is not that forum, and most won’t get the dark humor here... But those who I served with, and those who serve now - there is NO correlation to those afflictions...Great folks all. Even if 99% different, and 92.5% different... And I...

    Happy Veterans Day Weekend

Thank you to the 7.5% still alive who have EVER served, and the less than 1% who actively serve! (USA stats)??

    Partial Rustication, How About It?

I'm a Peterson fan, but this Jekyll & Hyde is a perfectly hideous example of a bad partial rustication in the extreme! On the other hand, I have a Newgrange Spigot with a smooth rim that I think looks fantastic: (Both are stock images from the web)
