If you want to try a mild English, try Sutliff's Berkshire. Also, contact C & D and ask their advice. Good people there and will reply with some good ones to start with. I prefer the look of the "Woodchipper" finish over the swirlled corkscrew rustication. All of my rusticated Petes are like that, including a superb smoking Deluxe. If you like Fuentes, try the 858 maduro, CAO's La Traviata maduro and La Gloria Cubano serie N maduro. Excellent sticks and all are under $5.00. Another that is superb is Liga's Undercrown maduro. Kind of bummed about my pipe
by the way, a friend turned me onto a great way to clean & sanitize... use 151 rum. Sweetens the pipe and sanitizes weally well. If the pipe is super nasty, pour a little in the bowl and light it. Whooba!!! bb- badbriar

Kind of bummed about my pipe
If the finish can come off pretty easily with the clean & cure, I'd go ahead and take all of it off. Polish well with a soft dremel polish disc and a bar of carnauba wax. Be careful when polishing and don't touch the briar with any metal part of the tool. Comes out gorgeous. bb- badbriar
