    Pipes of Unknown Origin

I join in praise of the nameless ones! I have many like the one in the picture that are merely stamped, "Imported Briar".

    The Pipe aka brylon

I contacted Billie Taylor years ago after I got this "The Pipe" and ran across his Web Page while researching it. It's primarily a curiosity as far as I'm concerned. It remains unsmoked. The addition of the "F" monogram makes me think it was a present.

    Sutliff - "Mixture 79"

I like licorice and enjoy PS Sambuca a little, but Mixter 79 just makes me gag. I admire anybody who has the will power to smoke a full bowl of it without turning several shades of puke!

    Pipes and Cigars low stock

Christmas came early today in the form of this beautiful Sterncrest from Dave G! What a gorgeous pipe with that smokey swirling grain. So fresh and sharp for 60 year old pipe! Thanks Dave! I definitely owe you. I'm going out to my cave and smoke some Blend No 4 in it right now. Mike

Congrats on finding one in good shape! I've been waiting for one to show up with the horse racing motif.

    Dull Stems

Doesn't it depend on why the stem is "dull" (oxidation or just grime) and what the stem is made from? Sometimes just a quick buff will work. Try This At Home How To Care For Vulcanite Stems If you just need a quick brightening up, you can use a damp micromesh pad. A couple of manufactures make...

    Remember Pearl Harbor

From what I've read on the subject, there was indeed an expectation of acts of war by Japan by the Roosevelt administration. The intelligence predicted the attack would be limited to be the Philippines. Western powers very much underestimated the ability of the Japanese to have the ability to...

Price of Pipes/Lady of the House

I don't have a need to hide anything. She buys her stuff and I, mine. We're both pretty cheap so spending has never been a problem. The most expensive pipe I've ever bought was only $130. Most are estates in the $20 to $30 range, some cheaper.

Snow, Snow and More Snow...Please Make It Stop

Only a couple of inches of snow here in Portland, Oregon and the entire city is still in chaos. Sitting here inside nice and warm puffing away and sipping some wine while thousands are still stuck in post rush hour traffic.

    Another Fake Dunhill on eBay

Here's a Dunhill of mine that must have accidentally had "Willard" stamped on the shank =) Actually this pipe was made before Dunhill sued Willard to move the spot from the top to the side.

    Scary Stuff.

I know I'm dreaming, but I would rather be seen as an individual rather than a actuarial table statistic. I've paid health insurance premiums all my adult life and only used my benefits one time. (I've been a pipe smoker for 43 years) Insurance companies have made a lot of money off of me.

Is Pipe Smoking on the Rise?

I lost one pipe smoking friend to vaping. Evidently he was in it just for the nicotine. Very disappointing, but he likes being able smoke his e-pipe in the house.
