LET'S PLAY: Pipes Around the World

They don't have maker's marks on them, but I assume they are made for export. One is stamped "Bamboo Briar - Made In Spain" and the other just "Spain". They both smoke just fine. I like the larger bowl of the Alligator.

    Tobacco Pouches.

This might not be for everybody, but I like using this brass tobacco box. It holds about an ounce and a half. The tobacco is never in there long enough to get too dry. It fits nicely in my pipe kit too.

    Books!

This is mostly my wife's collection of classic literature. My books are about music composition and aviation topics and they are scattered all over the house in piles where ever I happened to set them down. I've been giving my books away recently since there really isn't any reason to horde them...

    Doris Day Has Passed Away

My cousin played one of her sons in the old Doris Day Show. I got to meet her and her dogs on the set one day as well as a couple of the regulars on the show. That seems so long ago. I thought she'd live forever.

The Emperor's New Clothes, Musings of a New Pipe Smoker

Tasting the flavors in tobacco seems to be a much more subtle experience than tasting flavors in food. We use food analogies to describe tobacco flavors but I found that to be very misleading in my early pipe smoking years. Like many of us, I started out smoking aromatic blends because I could...
