An especially difficult re-stem (another giant straight grain)

Just send it to Georged. It's much easier that way. ...oh wait, never mind. Well done as always George. Beautiful pipe.

    GBD Lumberman

To be fair to the seller; his work is top notch. I've seen plenty of his restorations and his attention to detail is excellent. The band may not be a repair band for a cracked shank, but rather an add on for aesthetics from the original owner.

    GBD Lumberman

I'm not certain but that appears to be a repair band as it's cuts off a portion of the stampings. Looks to be a post 80's GBD or the stem might have been replaced. If the pipe calls to you, that's all that really matters. I dig it. I'm interested in ssjones opinion. He's the resident GBD professor.

    I'm Liking My Dr Plumb

Nice score tuold! Dr. Plumb is indeed a GBD second. It may not be sporting the brass rhondelle of a GBD, but I bet it still smokes just as nice. 99 cents?! Well done sir.

    Comoy's 1977 "Heritage" w/18k Gold band

That's a classy pipe. Nice work as always. I think that's the first gold band Comoy I've ever seen.

    BBB Bulldog Before/After (pics)

Here is the Sunday evening project. BBB Own Make squat bulldog. I've really taking a liking to the Own make line. I believe this is an early example sporting the inner tube stinger. I hope some of the resident historians can help out with dating. This does has the original silverband. Alas, no...

Early Dr. Grabow De Luxe resto

I think these are pre-war. Early Linkman Grabows had aluminum dots, circles, or shank stamped spades. What say you ejames?
