    Are You More Excited When

I'm not exited, but mostly scared. All pipes I buy are estates.

    Original Stain... Or Not?

New one. But only because, I'm afraid, that the repaired one can broke with a single drop. But it's doable, I'll give the fixed stem to my friend as a backup.

    Original Stain... Or Not?

I finally managed to finish this pipe. The pear wood has a rather boring grain, so I decided to go wild. Maybe I went a little overboard, but what the heck. I'm happy with the result :)

Restorers. Anybody tried wood filler for fills?

I've tried once. In my case it keeps chipping off, but maybe I'm doing something wrong...

    Thanks @UB 40 . Bookmarked.

    Prince of Wales

OK. No COM marking there. I'll try to dig something then. Thanks.

    Prince of Wales

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a "COM Stamp"? There are no other markings on the pipe.

    Prince of Wales

Hey, I've posted this in my original topic: https://pipesmagazine.com/forums/threads/original-stain-or-not.94145/ But it seems to me that this place is more appropriate. I recently bought myself such a pipe - Prince of Wales "Progress": I tried to find some info to at least determine its...

    Original Stain... Or Not?

Hey you! I recently bought myself such a pipe - Prince of Wales "Progress". I tried to find some info to at least determine its age. I found information that it was a GBD brand: https://pipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Of_Wales http://www.pipephil.eu/logos/en/logo-p5.html#princeofwales...

    Original Stain... Or Not?

Thank you for the kind words. Regarding the methods. At first I was soaking in oxyclean, then sand it down from 220 to 5000. Buff and carnauba. But now I'm doing something what @Chasing Embers mentioned. But with the heat gun instead of fire. After warming the stem, magic eraser. Then sand...

    Original Stain... Or Not?

Due to the overwhelming interest in this thread, I am uploading another pipe. This time I ground the finish at the request of a colleague. Is it ok? No 7. Mr Brog 124:

    Original Stain... Or Not?

Another ones coming. This time I've wanted to try some contrast staining. First time using Fiebing's dyes. Need to work a little about the process, but I'm satisfied. No 5. Vauen (Dr Perl) 7326: No 6. Mr Brog 125 "Fox": She was black before. I've deciced to have some fun. Before: After:

Thanks, I was not sure about geometry on this. I'll move on from that.

    Original Stain... Or Not?

Quick question. Should I consider this meerschaum linen as cleared, or should I dig deeper?

    Reimagining a Stanwell.
