Slow is the way to go. When I keep the cherry burning just at the edge of going out, that's when I get the best flavors. Getting the moisture level correct helps facilitate that.
I don't use methods. They weren't around when I started smoking pipes. But if they help people enjoy a better smoke, then there's no harm done.
Pipe smoking is pretty simple. Load up, light up, sip, dump. It just takes a bit of practice to get to that simplicity.

But sometimes it's the magic of a blend that works well for YOU.

Old Dublin is one of those for me.

It's hard for me to prep it wrong and the cut, moisture, packability with how I do it, and any other factors seem to be just right for my style.

Do you all think that the Peterson System with the p-lip facilitates good smoking technique or do you think it makes me not have to learn good technique for being easy to smoke without thinking?
