    Found My Love For Latakia

Still trying to figure out if Sutliff Aromatic English is the same thing as Eastfarthing.

    How Deep is Your Cellar?

It’s a weird time to start this hobby (a year ago), as I feel the clock ticking on affordable, diverse and available pipe tobacco. The problem is I have not been at it long enough to be sure what I will want a lot of years from now. Since I don’t smoke enough to really sample everything, trying...

    Found My Love For Latakia

Eastfarthing to me is an almost perfect AroLat (could use just a bit more lat). Northwest Trek from the Squire is also awesome.

    How Far is Too Far?

I dump near the bottom when relights become too frequent. Although tonight I had the last bit of FMC I may ever get, and I relit that mofo ‘till there was nothing but vapor left.

High-End Pipes - Do They Improve the Smoking Experience?

Buy it. If you are the type that really appreciates fine, artisan made things (craft beer, good wine, furniture, etc) then I think the romance/ magic of a high end pipe will definitely add to the experience. Especially if you save it for special days. You only live once, and if you find it...

    Mystery of the Flavorless Pipe

No I’ve never had that happen. I did try The advice I got, of drying more than I usually do, packing tighter and sipping more slowly, and flavor definitely improved. I think it was those, along with a big chamber and a newish pipe.

    Mystery of the Flavorless Pipe

Yeah the draw on this does feel pretty loose and I tend to pack loose in my filtered pipes so this will probably help a lot. Thanks so much for the help.

    Mystery of the Flavorless Pipe

According to smokingpipes it was smoked. The bowl was smooth blackened wood.

    Mystery of the Flavorless Pipe

Generally 5 min on a plate. But it’s definitely not dry when I pack.

    Mystery of the Flavorless Pipe

This is my only unfiltered. Think it’s a technique issue?

    Mystery of the Flavorless Pipe

EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) After piping for a year, I just got my first estate (from Smokingpipes) a beautiful Savinelli Autograph sandblasted bent billiard. This is my fist pipe without a filter. Excited, I load it up with Butternut Burley. Strangely I got no flavor...
