Pipes and Cigars Online Store. Never Again.

Correct, I am sure they have a very hard time maintaining consistency from such a small handmade crop as tobacco, sourced from some of the worlds roughest neighborhoods sometimes.

    Look What I Found…

Having started back after a near 20 year hiatus, I’ve started buying again and have gone back through all my old tins, finding some really nice things. But I happened to look down and sitting on a random shelf was a lovely little tin of Penzance, still tight as a drum, from 2009. I don’t know...

Well, I’m all for groundlessness. It’s what I built my empire on.

Shoutout for Williams Tobacco, Cleveland, TN

Just a heads up for those in southeast TN that are looking for a nice shop with a good assortment of Diehl, Pease, MacB, etc. Williams Tobacco is a BnM that I always try to patronize and if you’re coming down I 75 on the way to Atlanta it’s worth a 15 minute detour if you need a tin. Plus, one...

Pipes and Cigars Online Store. Never Again.

Well I buy usually about every two weeks and have made about ten orders with PandC and all have been perfectly executed. I’ve asked customer service a couple of questions and always got a personal response from a very nice lady in usually about 6 hours. They have a few things you can’t get...

    You Tube Pipe Channel

Malcolm is a lot of fun. Cambridge poet and theologian and devoted pipe smoker. I enjoy his channel and came to it through Tolkien, of whom he is a significant fan, as though that weren’t obvious.

    The Dying Swan

I read a quote once: "All socialism eventually tends toward brutality and all capitalism eventually tends toward fraud." The more I think about it, the more sense it makes. Whether it's a Big Mac or a box of matches, most things you want will be smaller and cost more than last year.

    Have Any Blends Gotten Better?

If I can ask, how do you smoke C. Squire blends?

    Jim's C&D Sansepolcro 2024 Small Batch Review.

Wow - I got the very last tin of Sansepulcro at 4Noggins.

What are You Watching? [2024] Please Rate 1-5

As a certified Shogun nut, let me tell you you're in for a treat. I read the book when I was in grade school (quite a feat, 1300 pages, seemingly half of it in Japanese) and it's one of the great adventure novels of all time in my opinion. The 1980 miniseries with Richard Chamberlain was...

    Jim's C&D Sansepolcro 2024 Small Batch Review.

Fantastic review, and it convinced me to get some. I wish I had a palate like that. It must be like having a sense of smell like a coon hound. I don't even know what "vegetal grass" tastes like. And then again, maybe not. Seems to be out of stock already.

    Oldest Smoked Tobacco...

Jeez, that's a tragedy. Some nice things there.

    Oldest Smoked Tobacco...

No way would I pay the prices I see for old tobacco. There is too much legitimately good new stuff being made. I just fantasize that they've stopped making (let's say) Ten Russians, and I'm buying the last few pounds in the world, and aren't I smart and lucky to be alive? All of the fun at...

    Escudo Alternative

I didn't know it had changed. I have multiple tins in the 15 year old range and haven't had the new stuff. I guess I'll see when my order gets here though. Hoping the "whatsis" is at least half way decent.

    Oldest Smoked Tobacco...

I have open now a 25 year old tin of Royal Yacht that is great - it's a real nicotine bomb though, best smoked lying on the ground. Also working on a 24 year old tin of Escudo that is just amazing. The Virginias have turned in to something really special. One of the great joys of old...

    Escudo Alternative

There are loads of blends in this "market space" as they say, and I don't see that Escudo is any more expensive than anything else in tinned tobacco. I guess if you have to get something in bulk on sale, any of the C&D VaPers would be a good place to start and they run killer sales from time to...

    Help Date my Tobacco

Thanks - nope, no dates at all that I can see. 06 and 08 seem correct. Thanks very much. Out of curiosity, how are you getting that from the label?
