    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

82s About 4 years ago. One of my earlier pipe acquisitions in the overall scheme of things. I didn't even know it was a Peterson in the beginning - it was just another pipe in a shape I liked. I would prefer a P-lip but it got me on the path. My 2nd was likely a 314.

    Coatings on Chinese Pipes

I prefer to utilize pipes made of wood I know are acceptable for the purpose, and from makers I know have good intentions of honesty and integrity. I avoid those that I suspect may not fall into that category. Make of that what you will.

    Giveaway -F.A.T. Donation (05/06/24)

Recipient chosen. I was tempted to try and please more than one but hey there's shipping costs... One box should head out tomorrow. This can be closed.

    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

For at least the last year, maybe more, I've only bought Petes. And most of them I love. But I'm really not trying to be a collector and am just about ready to eliminate the ones that don't perform the way I prefer and prioritize function over beauty & variety. Meaning I'm considering selling /...

    Jim's C&D Steamworks Small Batch 2024 Review.

Sounds like what I'm liking lately. I've got a "sleeve" of them on the way. 1 for soon, others for later.

    Thoughts on a Second Pipe

I have 3 and thought I'd get 4 as I have a special rack for 4 churchwardens... But I hardly ever utilize them. Then again, I'm hardly ever sitting... it might be different if I was sitting with a book indoors...

Pack and Tap: Is my Strange Way Wrong?

You'll eventually find some combination of "methods" will work just fine for you. Sometimes it only takes a couple of years practice and things just "click" for you! ;) I've often wondered why that most recent "aha!" took so long to occur - since it's so obvious to me - after the fact... And...

Terracotta Fingers and Replacement Stems? (Peterson content)

I'm surprised you didn't get more replies to your question. I have read about some stains being water soluble and diminishing like that. I have not experienced that personally. I don't have a recommendation for your best solution to that issue, but there are some floating around here somewhere...

    Giveaway -F.A.T. Donation (05/06/24)

F.A.T. = Free Aromatic Tobacco Some do, some don't. Some will, some won't. I've tried and tried but repeatedly come up short. They smell delicious in the tin. Some of them even hold a flame. :ROFLMAO: They provide a nuanced and delicious flavor - until they don't do it for me. I truly...

    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

A couple months back I got a 2001 Peterson 68 with a horrid "dick-lip" that someone had tried to create with an incorrect bend and a forward oriented draft hole - I refused to smoke it as was. 😵‍💫 The first 2 pics were all I really have showing how it began. The final ones are after rustiepyles...

***What Are You Smoking, May 2024?***

Temple Bar in a 2001 Peterson 68 with a rustiepyles replacement stem.

    Two Hundred Dollars?!?

    I wouldn't pay that price either - why, it doesn't even have a P-lip!!

I'm sorry but you're simply incorrect.

    GMO Tobacco/No Nicotine

Yep, those were the words that brought out the Facebook "Fact Checker Trolls". I don't see glyphosate written anywhere. :ROFLMAO:

    GMO Tobacco/No Nicotine

I see no difference here...? Never said that some don't have true issues. Just pointed out that for many, there seems to be something different in the wheat "here" vs "there". Some would really like to figure out what that is.
  18. FLDRD

    GMO Tobacco/No Nicotine

BS & BS. Natural selection and hybridization are definitively NOT GMO. And GMO is still very much a "shotgun" approach and not nearly as "specific" as some would think. No, relatively few whole foods have been GMO'd, but almost all processed products that pretend to be food, contain GMO...

    GMO Tobacco/No Nicotine

"People have been eating grain for thousands of years, but suddenly you have large numbers of people allergic to gluten?" I posted a meme on Facebook with those words, a picture, and no mention of glyphosate. I got "fact-checked" and told that there was no evidence that glyphosate caused...

    GMO Tobacco/No Nicotine

I'm not sure what you mean, but I think I might? I think it can be readily found that the purpose behind GMO crops such as corn, was that they were modified to be able to withstand the toxin which is sprayed on them to keep down pests (it is generally a neurotoxin to the pest if I recall). But...
