That's an interesting idea! It might be tricky to get the sleeves to stay on the clip ends with all the sliding around that happens on the stummel side. Thank you, @Ahi Ka . I think you solved it right away. That circular "MADE IN ENGLAND" stamp is very similar to a Comoy's Everyman I have back at home. It would also explain why it's so well-made for a pipe stamped with a whiskey brand. A look at another Comoy's shape 122 confirms it...- fontbandit

I just purchased a pipe with “SCHENLEY” stamped onto one side of the shank, “MADE IN ENGLAND” in a circle and “122” stamped onto the other side, and a tiny white “S” on the stem. Here's a tip! If you keep a thin layer of obsidian oil on your stems, you can keep them out in the open and protect them. Just don't keep them in direct sunlight, or you'll risk bleaching them.- fontbandit

I use the powdered version! Grab a tub you don't care about, fill it with hot water, scoop in the oxi, toss in the stem and let it soak overnight. The oxidation will rise to the surface where you can scrub it away.- fontbandit
