Estate pipes will enable you to get a good selection of pipe styles at a very low cost if you buy auction lots. This is what I did starting out. Cracked open a really old bottle of The Balvenie Doublewood. Unfortunately it is so old that the cork disintegrated upon opening. Fortunately I had a spare cork that fits perfectly, so all is well, aside from some bits of old cork in my dram. One of my favorite single malts.- Briar Tuck

Today's estate lot pipe is a Karl Erik freehand, hand cut in Denmark. This is my first and only pipe of this style and it's a really good smoker. Sounds like a great smoking session. For whatever reason I always seem to be doing something when I'm smoking my pipe.
