I think it's actually called "sand" by SEM. It's a relatively neutral color that can work with a wide variety of stummel finishes. I've always found colored or brindled ebonites to not show oxidation as much. Thats a big plus for me.

This is the merchandise I'm awaiting. Yorgos Mitakidis - Pipe Dan derived shape, strawberry wood. Extra fabulous blast.

    USPS At It Again..

At 40 years old, I'm certainly not among the eldest members of this forum - BUT - growing up, there were big blue mailboxes on nearly every corner in my neighborhood. Nowadays, they're so rare, I couldn't tell you where the closest one is (aside from the actual post office). I miss those.

Mcclelland Classic Samsun in the Piersel "Scottie" Dubney. Posing with a new Neerup tamper. I chose this tamper because the removable pick isn't a screw-in type. It has a tenon system that makes removing it easy and fast. I HATE threaded picks on my tampers!

    USPS At It Again..

Was hoping there'd be an update this morning but so far nothing has changed. It's borderline criminal business practice I tell you! Criminal! I've got pics of the pipe but.. must. Get. In. Hand.

    USPS At It Again..

Absolutely. I've just never seen a parcel tracking say it's "Out for Delivery", but then return to "Processing" - especially after just two hours. And of course, no one knows anything.

SG Burnt Ends in the 1934 Barlings Make S-M. Sliced up the entire 8 oz and let it dry over night. It's quite nice really - an obvious FVF derivative, most similar to FVPlug.

    Sam Gawith Burnt Ends

It's basically FVF but with a little bit of Turkish leaf thrown in and a spritz of tonquin. For me, it's right there with FVF and Best Brown.

    Sam Gawith Burnt Ends

I'm waiting for the Sams Burnt Ends.

    Sam Gawith Burnt Ends

It's replete with the FVF aroma - way strong in that category. Definitely more plug than flake - will need some slicing and dicing.

Movies You Should See [but Probably Haven't]

I've considered (and I may) starting a thread devoted to discussion of TCM programming. There's a dozen or so films I like that they air much too frequently. It's still by far my most viewed channel.

Movies You Should See [but Probably Haven't]

Blow-Up (1966) Time Crimes (2007) The Player (1992) Suddenly, Last Summer (1957) or nearly any Tennessee Williams film adaptation - especially those starring Liz Taylor. I'm happy to discuss any of these films via PM.

    USPS At It Again..

Overall, I've always had good luck with USPS. Any problems I've experienced have almost always been at the fault of "customs".
