    Greetings Friends from Besieged Armenia!

Welcome from a "besieged", quasi-1984 New York City. Self-loathing ignorance, political stupidity, Wuhan-Flu, and self-induced servitude, are the most difficult enemies to conquer.

Opinions Regarding Stokkebye PS 41 Cube Cut

Wear some burn-proof shirts, jackets, pants..... It snaps, crackles, and pops. I use it mainly as a component in one of my homemade mixtures. The toasty-oatmeal, flavor is nice.

Are You a Sloppy Pipe Smoker or a Meticulous Pipe Smoker?

Generally, things get put away in their proper places, but I'm not anal about leaving a few pipes laying around. After smoking and subsequent cleaning, they get placed in individual cloth bags....so no scratches, dents, dings, etc. I prefer things, neat....and I'm not a clutterer by nature...

Altering The Look Of A Pipe

Nice pipe, both ways. Years ago, (but for different reasons), I decided to turn a conventional-length meh, Charatan, into a more interesting, Charatan Churchwarden. I did the unusual conversion, by having a second, optional-stem, made for the pipe. The dual pipes, looked great, either way...

    Hello from Florida

"Quality"........ummmmmmm............. :) I generally don't join any groups that would allow me to be a member. I had to leave a gun club for that very reason. But yes. A great bunch of guys, R here. Some fellow Floridians, too.

Hello from Naples (Italy), But Also from Prague (CZ)

Welcome to the forum. You'll earn another PhD in Pipe-Smoking, here. My four grandparents emigrated -circa 1918- from the Naples area, and came to the US of A. One set, landed in Utica, NY, then moved down to NYC. Yada, yada, yada.....now, one of their grandsons smokes a pipe, and just said...

Phrases, Words and Mispronunciations That Bother You

After the aggravating, disappointing, and frightening events over the last year(s).... smiling, doesn't come easy, for me. But reading through all these postings, worked. "Ya hear what I'm sayin' "?

    Howdy from Ithaca, NY

Greetings...from New York City...aka "The Big Shit-Hole". Never been to Ithaca. Wait!...I think I might have passed thru Ithaca on my way to Lake Seneca back in 1971. Nope...sorry, it was Utica, NY. Anyway...enjoy all the pipe-ish things that you'll read here...and the guys that post...

My Attempts at Homemade Kretek-Like Tobacco for Pipe (With Recipe)

I'm reading thru all the warnings about health risks from smoking Kretek, and I'm both somewhat confused, and concerned. I assumed that KRETEK PIPE-TOBACCO will not be inhaled by the smoker....correct? Or, did I miss something, or misunderstand how Kretek pipe-tobacco will be used? I want to...

My Attempts at Homemade Kretek-Like Tobacco for Pipe (With Recipe)

Thanks for the alternative recipe....but can you add some weights, volumes, or proportions for the ingredients, please?

My Attempts at Homemade Kretek-Like Tobacco for Pipe (With Recipe)

I was just about to post a request a recipe for a homemade version of Kretek pipe-tobacco, did a search, and came across this thread! Amazing coincidence! Can't wait to mix a small batch. I used to smoke clove cigarettes, years ago, but gave that vice up and replaced it with others. Thanks...

Anyone Ever Used An Oxygen Concentrator?

When my dad was still alive, he suffered from COPD, and emphysema, the results of working as a New York City Fireman for 30 years. He worked back in those days before gas masks were required. The last few years of his life tied him to an oxygen concentrator. Medicare approved a very small...

    Elizabethan Mixture Review

Thanks for the background information re: Elizebethan clones, etc. I never smoked the original, Dunhill/Murray versions, but I do happen to use Sutliff's match-Victoria/Elizabethan as a minor component in one of my own concocted, personal-mixtures -which also includes some cigar-leaf...

    Apologies to Brobs

I haven't the vaguest idea what the original controversy was about nor do I know/care about anything about what was said, why, and in what context. In fact, it's absolutely none of my business. It's a private affair...your private affair. But the fact that you apologized, on an open form...

My Nephew Is Mesmerized By His Box of Cereals When He Has His Breakfast, But He Is Only A Kid.

Back when I was a kid, most big tobacconist, and stores like Wally Frank, and Barclay Rex kept log books that recorded the specific tobaccos used to mix up a batch their customer's private mixtures. Bulk-tobacco mixtures were sold, but many guys had their own private stock, custom blended...

    Hello from Flanders!

Yes....about two weeks ago we were hit with a blizzard. New York City and other areas got about 12 inches of snow, and more in some places.....along with high winds and freezing cold. It sucks! Hate winter weather. But I'm alive, and that's what ultimately, counts. But it SUCKS!
