    Tobacco Rotation.

Oh man send me some Scotch…. Prices have been skyrocketing, less so in the UK, and I live in one of the most expensive places on earth for it Ontario, Canada, it’s even bad by Canadian standards, which are already bad, lol I Jar about 6 at a time too, and then I have longer term jars that I...

    Ghosting Leather Tobacco Pouches

I re-use plastic tobacco pouches and put any tobacco in them, although I’d try and put closer stuff in, like an English into an old dark fired pouch, however, I’m not worried about a TINY transfer of flavor that could happen. However, the baggie idea above would work…

    Why do We Smoke Pipes?

1/3 relaxation and ritual and style 1/3 flavour 1/3 nicotine buzz

    Predicament Ordering Tobacco

I’m quite found of Eileen’s dream, a dream aromatic…. My one problem is it’s a little low nic, gotta get that kick. However, I should look into it, I see it’s still available, I was under the impression it had been discontinued.

Have You Noticed A Slow Down In Sales/Trading?

The great thing about the pipe hobby, is it can be as expensive or as inexpensive as you want in tougher times to just have a puff…. High end pipes and aged tobacco or the opposite. You want aged tobacco age it yourself, if you have the time. I’ve noticed some good price estates on SP.com, but...

    New Member/Advice on Pipe

👌 yes this is how I started, broken cigars in a pipe.

    New Member/Advice on Pipe

So if you are just looking to smoke, it should smoke fine right now, that hole is after where you put it in your mouth, so the leak doesnt matter…. But secondly, yes I would just get a bit if that is easy to find, done for now. Thirdly, you could look into a replacement or repair yourself later...

    Favorite Virginia Tobaccos?

I just received a tin of formerly Dunhill Flake, Peterson Flake, haven‘t smoked it yet but it smells like a standard Virginia flake, very good but nothing too special, probably something you could find in bulk…

    Second pipe

Don’t do it, it’s called pipe acquisition disorder or disease, once you start…. I think that’s a great choice in shape and company, it’s good to mix up styles a wee bit in your collection. Sav makes really great affordable high end factory pipes, can’t go wrong. You might want to check out...

When Forced to Choose Only 4...

If my running late or I guess on time, shipment of Peterson Nightcap and Virginia flake ever arrives, I might know more, till then…. I’d take a Virginia, maybe Orlik, an English and an aromatic at least, possibly Mac Baren Vanilla flake, although could also be classified as a Virginia as the...

    No Cake?

I’m no eating birthday cake either, only steamed broccoli with sprinkles on it, mmm. I just wipe with a paper towel and a pipe cleaner in the stem. As mentioned you will get a cake, but it’s the best kind IMO, thin and strong.

    The Dedicated Pipe Dilemma

I don’t dedicate, but do a good paper towel wipe after each bowl, and I do have a fairly sensitive pallet but ghosting doesn’t bother me…. I find I can smell the ghost in a ‘dry’ bowl, but after firing up a new bowl, the burning tobacco masks any ghost.

    I'm in!

Good on you. If you’ve smoked cigars for years, you’re less likely to just quit, you’re already halfway there. I smoked cigars for a few yrs before pipes…

Finding a Balance with VaPer/Straight Virginia Blends

Having a little bite during a smoke, is something you might get a tolerance too. Having bite that leaves a painful sore for a couple days after is more concerning IMO and something to avoid, A salt water gargle helps with this one…

    First English Blend

I took the conventional approach, but not on purpose. Cheap bagged aros, better aros, to English, I actually picked up a tin of old Dublin by name not for the smoke in 2013 or 14 or maybe 15, and it happened to be an English, then I went to Virginias and Virginia blends after, then now a little...

    Favorite English Tobaccos?

Frog Morton is a lighter English, an English “aro”, but some say Sutliff Eastfarthing is similar, it’s really good anyhow as I’ve never had Frog Morton, still time to buy an overpriced tin one day… I mostly smoked Peterson Old Dublin for ten years, and really enjoy it, few mention it here, but...

Cool I‘ll look that up, never heard, should make an interesting YouTube watch from some remote village in Japan…

    Tea

I’m primary a black tea (and some but less coffee) drinker with cream and sugar, although I drink herb tea for health reasons, and a deadly loose leaf tea when I have the fortitude to make some (yes brewing loose tea is so difficult😂) called genmaicha…. It’s a Japanese green tea combined with...
