Difference Between Red VA & Dark VA?

Your limited experience. Find A McClelland Red Virginia to try, nothing condiment about it. Even C&D Red virginia, but a tin of their yearly Red virginia Flake. I think a problem is finding high quality Red virginia leaf these days. Lack thereof was a contributing factor to McClelland closing shop.

I believe it is 1 7/8". Pretty ideal for my morning smoke or Sir John's Flake Virginia.

Difference Between Red VA & Dark VA?

The Red Va's have a reddish color tone, Dark Virginias have a darker tone. You asked. On a more serious note, I like both as well as lighter, brighter Virginias. If compare red to dark kind of similar to a cinnamon candy to mollasses or syrup. Reds seem sweeter and spicier but not quite as full...

    How do You Brew Tea?

I drink one cup of coffee in the morning and a cup of tea after dinner each night. I rarely deviate from that. So I brew in the mug. I drink a couple of Earl Grey versions almost exclusively I get from Adagio Teas.

    My New Beauty!

The wax melts and rubs off after some period. You can apply wax yourself if you'd like, I don't bother. I eventually want the true coloring that occurs after hundreds of smokes to eventually get the deep, dark brown which will probably take several thousand smokes. If you're really picky about...

    New D&R Multi-Layer Bags-Long Term Storage Question

Transfer it to mylar bags. Easy and cheap. Then you won't have to guess. And it will be good for far longer than 2 or 3 years.

    My New Beauty!

What smoking and maintenance? I smoke 3 different Meers once per day every day. Aside from the occasional team to remove some cake and a water flush, there's no maintenance. And no concerns breaking in. Nice pipe by the way. Hope you enjoy it.

    Cold Storage

Your biggest concerns, I would think, would be the temperature fluctuations causing expansion and contraction with the containers. This could corrupt the seal.

C&D Golden Days of Yore is out

I haven't smoked a ton of this but it's quite enjoyable. In my mind, most aromatics are cheap or mediocre tobacco soaked in flavoring. I know that's not really a fair analogy but it is what is. This blend is an excellent blend of quality leaf with some topping to compliment it.
