    Proselytizing Pipes!

Technically, in my line of work, proselytizing IS what I do. Normally it concerns something of a more eternal nature. Tomorrow, however, two of my colleagues are coming over to my house in the afternoon to learn the fine art of pipe smoking! Somewhere along the way , they picked up that I begin...

    Pipe Cleaner Miser...

I buy by the case from spc and use 2 per smoke on avg - for me it’s just a cost of doing life. That said, it might have been Tony that used to post about throwing spent cleaners in a pillow case and running them through the wash - frugal to say the least ;)

Brisk Carolina morning - my own blend; Yale Dropout in a beat up EA Carey billiard. Some guy enjoyed the living daylights out of this pipe before it made its way to me !

    NC Smokers Roll Call.

All the way down in the Southeast tip in Southport. About 25 mins away from Low Country Pipe - Smokingpipes.com brick & mortar site. If you ever make the pilgrimage, look me up! I’ll meet you there, and I talk enough for 3 people, so you can smoke and be shy all you want ?

It’s a doubleheader for me today - adding two new tins to the rotation after finishing two earlier in the week. First was John Cotton Smyrna in a new Peterson Killarney Dublin, now the first bowl of C&D John Marr In this EA Carey 1/8th bent billiard. Could be ages before I open two new tobaccos...

2014 Presbyterian Mixture is the very first smoke on this brand new Peterson Killarney courtesy of P&C’s ridiculous sale from a few weeks ago. Drilled perfect, passes cleaner test flawlessly and smoking like a champ! (Not very light outside yet for a good pic ? )

Better (or Worse) Than Expected Blends.

Wasn’t expecting much from War Horse Bar - and was apprehensive of the topping. But it is phenomenal! Bought two C&D bulks: Yale Mixture and Star of the East Gold - both were bland and have become blenders. That said, I created a blend I call “Yale Dropout” (50% Yale Mixture, 25% GL Pease...

Different Blends- Only Reaching For A Few

I have a really wide cellar (lots of blends, only deep on a handful) because I like trying new blends. I keep 10-14 in rotation at any time, with the rest stored away. Even if I buy 8oz tins - or the rare bulk, I jar most of it and leave 2oz or so to put into rotation. From that 10-14 blend...

    Distinctive and Rare

My collection contains its fair share of distinctive and rare. If I said it was through dumb luck, that wouldn’t be accurate - but if I told you every step was premeditated with an eye toward appreciation ($$) that also wouldn’t be completely true. Here are a few examples. I bought early Ashton...
