***What Are You Smoking, June 2024?***

I had to share this. Still smoking the same pipe while watching UFC. Susan stitched together this oversized leather rest for me during UFC!

***What Are You Smoking, June 2024?***

I forgot to add that this smoke is dedicated to the late wife of @prairiedruid

***What Are You Smoking, June 2024?***

Watching UFC Fight Night, Alex Perez vs. Tatsuro Taira. Taira is twenty-four years old, and 15–0 thus far. This should be interesting. Going to have Cornell & Diehl Small Batch Folklore (2022, 805/1000) in an unbranded, unmarked, Magnum-sized Swan Neck LC (Large Curve) with a horn stem with an...

What Are You Listening To - June, 2024

Marcus Miller used to be the downstairs neighbour of my brother, Tim (I play table tennis weekly at my brother’s place). Back in 1992, I designed a CD package for Kenwood Dennard. Marcus and my late friend, Hiram Bullock, played on the album. This is a track of Kenwood and Marcus playing...

What Cigar are You Smoking? 2024

We stayed up late, got up late, and had a late breakfast on the porch. Tonight is a UFC Fight Night. On Wednesday, our friend, Rob, gifted us a bottle of hot sauce made by UFC fighter, Dustin Poirier. We opened it on Friday to have with some avocado, but the seal was floating on the oily rim of...

Brethren, I Humbly Ask a Favor

Very sorry to hear this. My sincere condolences to you and your family. I will light a pipe tonight.

    What Defines a Good Smoke?

I would say most of my smokes are enjoyable. I suppose if they weren’t, I wouldn’t smoke. I particularly love when there are minimal/no relights and everything is burning perfectly.

Glad to be Back is the jagsdriver!

Welcome back from Pennsylvania and New York. Did you just take a break from being online, or did you take a break from pipe smoking altogether? In any case, what prompted the return?

***What Are You Smoking, June 2024?***

After a certain point, not appreciably different from any pipe with 150+ years of smoking through it. I joke, but am serious at the same time.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2024?***

To the best of my knowledge, Ropp only used cherry for the natural tree branch style pipes for close to 100 years.

***What Are You Smoking, June 2024?***

Having Samuel Gawith Squadron Leader in the smallest of my very early Eugène-Léon Ropp pipes, a Cherrywood with a Natural Horn Stem. It’s stamped “Bussang,” so, it’s very likely it was made at Ropp’s original workshop there between 1870–1893. Below is a vintage postcard depicting the Ropp...

Where in Galicia is this shop? Susan’s sister has a place in Ribeira there where we stay when we visit.

    Ten Minute Tiny Pipes

I have a Big Ben Pipo and a couple of Rangers. They’re fun little pipes and I’m glad I have them. The pipes are Nosewarmers, but the chambers are average sized, so not that quick a smoke (think about .77" x 1.0").

Question on smoking SG Navy and Balkan

I used to think Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake was drenched in propylene glycol because it seemed soooo wet (and flame retardant, sometimes even fire proof), but, it would appear it’s not—it’s just shipped incredibly moist. I’ve found that several hours, or even several days of drying time...

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

Not entirely surprising, given it has its original packaging.
