Does Anyone Have A Copy Of This Booklet On Blending Your Own Pipe Tobacco From John Middleton; Pub 1937 ?

The chest contained a similar booklet plus jars of various tobaccos (which had a tax stamp dated 1926)

Does Anyone Have A Copy Of This Booklet On Blending Your Own Pipe Tobacco From John Middleton; Pub 1937 ?

I don't have that particular booklet, but a number of years ago I bought this John Middleton Blending chest on eBay

    My Latest Estate Stanwell 51

Really nice Stanwell. I've picked up a few Stanwells over the years. They're a great value & good smokers. When did the manufacturing switch from Denmark to Italy?

Something As Elementary As Pipe Cleaners

How many bundles of pipe cleaners come in a box like that? I'm a big believer in running a pipe cleaner or two down my pipe as I smoke a bowlful so buying a box might be more cost effective...

Is There a Tobacco you Seem to Like More Every Time you Smoke It?

While my answer probably would change next month, next week, or even later today, the first one that comes to mind is Reiner Blend 71 Long Golden Flake.

    Holiday Blends 2020

I love Christmas tobaccos & every year pick up a few to savor. This year it's Peretti Yuletide, Straus Tobacco Wenceslas, plus Cordial Friends & Figgy Pudding from The Country Squire. They're all terrific, but special mention goes to the Country Squire blends. They're both really flavorful yet...

What's the Goopiest Aromatic You've Ever Tried?

While Molto Dolce, the Rice Krispies snap-crackle-and-pop of pipe tobaccos, is high on the list for blends I've tried, the wettest goopiest blend I've ever smoke was Milan Tobacconist Poochie's Blend. Many of the Milan Tobacconist offerings are among my personal favorites, but Poochie's Blend...

The First Blend That Got You Into Pipe Smoking

I started smoking a pipe when I was in college in the late 1960's. I sampled & enjoyed a number of pipe tobaccos like the popular-at-the-time Borkhum Riff Whiskey Blend, the Sail & Amphora blends, Niemeyer blends like Flying Dutchman & Heather Honey, Rum & Maple Blend 53, plus all the various...

    Another Christmas Blend Aromatic Bender

EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) A couple years ago around the holidays I went on a sort of pipe tobacco "bender", smoking only aromatic blends for a couple months. While I enjoy a variety of all types of blends (although for me Latakia is best appreciated as a condiment), I...

How Much Air Space When Jarring Bulk?

I use 1/2 pint Mason/Kerr wide mouth jars for canning bulk tobaccos. I weigh out the bulk prior to jarring. I cram 4 oz. of most flakes into a jar & leave a small amount of air at the top. For other tobacco cuts the 1/2 pint jars hold 2 oz. perfectly. If necessary I'll use a canning...

    Mixing Store Bought Blends

I do this all the time. One of my personal favorite things to do is add a small amount of a very sweet aromatic blend to a straight burley or Virginia blend that seems a bit blah.
