    Florida Pipe Smokers Meet

Simon did endure some friendly ribbing. Clearly, neither of you are cheapskates.

    Florida Pipe Smokers Meet

I bought 5 tins of 2024 Cringle Flake. Thanks to Florida taxation, only $34.95 per tin. Have to patronize our host. The tin of 30 plus year old Richmond Medium Navy Cut was cracked, everyone had a bowl. This is was quite good, I was pleasantly surprised at the nice flavors.

***What Are You Smoking, December 2024?***

Sir John's Curly Cut in a Howell. Nice medium blend that could have some bite if not sipped slowly. Sweet with some unique spicy flavors in finding quite pleasant. Kind of like cinnamon nutmeg. Wish this blend were still produced.

Florida Pipe Smokers Meet - Saturday December 7 - Edwards Pipe & Cigar Tampa

I am bringing a tin of Richmond Medium Navy Cut that was generously gifted to me by the @Duke of Erinmore that he tells me is at least 30 years old. We'll pop that tin tomorrow and share it with anyone who wants to try it.

Why would the mods lock a thread based on an annual tobacco release from an independent blender?

Probably for the same reason a dog licks it's own balls - because it can. The Mods here are very sensitive about any subject that can lead to an argument or flame war. That seems to work pretty well at keeping the site very friendly. They sometimes seem to error a bit too far on the side of...

Would you keep an ugly pipe that smokes really well?

I've never bought a pipe I thought was ugly. However, if for some reason I had an ugly pipe that smoked great, I'd absolutely smoke it. Having a beautiful pipe that smokes awful is like having a movie star caliber girl friend who won't swallow. Fat girls need love too, so do ugly pipes.
