Florida Pipe Smokers Meet

4 of us got together at Edwards Pipe & Cigar in Tampa today. Edwards is a really nice shop and host, we've met there many times. @condorlover1 , @gamzultovah , @badbrbad and I had a great time and smoked some fabulous tobacco.

Simon brought a beautiful Meer to show. Incredible coloring.





Simon was on top of his considerable game with keen wit that kept us laughing much of the time. Bob brought enough tobacco to share that could last all of us a month. First time for Ron, nice addition to our little group.

Bob, who is Jewish, enhanced us with his knowledge. For example, he enlightened us by explaining that copper wire was invented by 2 Jews fighting over a penny..it was that kind of day. We're looking to do it again in February.

I bought 5 tins of 2024 Cringle Flake. Thanks to Florida taxation, only $34.95 per tin. Have to patronize our host.


The tin of 30 plus year old Richmond Medium Navy Cut was cracked, everyone had a bowl. This is was quite good, I was pleasantly surprised at the nice flavors.

That's why they make pennies out of zinc now. But that's not the reason for all the copper wire theft you hear about. That's just what happens when the middle class gets squeezed.

Finally I would like to thank Mark for putting the whole thing together. I have concluded that if any of us posted half of the sh*t said yesterday we would be hit with a 'perma-ban' from the powers that be that would be counted in years. On the return trip home, Mark brought up a good point.
If the Floridians over on the Atlantic side were to organize a get-together with some of their guys confirmed to attend, we Gulf coast FL guys would love to meet there. Be good to check out the place we've heard about over in Vero Beach.
If you all would care to organize something, give a shout.
As it's a pretty good haul over there, we would need to see some guys confirm to be there before making that trip.
