Having a Punch Signature Robusto, 5.0" x 54, courtesy of @PaulRVA (thank you, brother!) on the porch.
It’s 74⁰ out, but it’s very windy right now. The wind chimes are swinging and Wasabi is on the lookout for marauders and invaders.
Just speculation here: Peterson launched a Dublin Filter series for the German market (circa 2020?) that had a metal “P” in the stem and a black and and silver band—I wonder if the pipe in question is related, but mistakenly got a green, white, and orange band instead of the black and silver one.
Our friend, John, is visiting. We’re going to see the Dickies in Allentown this weekend. Having a Raices Dominicanas Corona, 5.75" x 48, that John brought from Harlem. Again, these sticks were made from “a very certain tobacco.”
It was enjoyable—I wouldn’t say great. But, it was nice to have a cigar again. I definitely loved partaking pipes again on Thursday. I’ve missed both very much.
It’s a beautiful day today. Having my first cigar in over three months—a box pressed Famous Smoke Shop Nicaraguan Selection 3000 Grande Robusto, 6.0" x 60 (made by Oliva) on the porch. Wasabi went to the veterinarian today to get his rabies shot so we can travel to Canada. He didn’t like getting...
No stinger, just a regular tenon. I’m not entirely sure who made the Captain Black Lane promotional pipes. Dr. Grabow made the Wimbledon pipes available through the brochures that were with Borkum Riff tobacco; I see some overlap with the shapes, so Dr. Grabow might be a possibility. The London...
Going to have Sutliff Pipe Force Episode III Signature Series by Per Georg Jensen in a Larsen Super Grain Handmade Dublin Stack. Sadly, no coins in this order.
@Humblepipe
I guess today will be a pairing of pipe brand and tobacco day. I tracked down an unsmoked Captain Black pipe without its original packaging, making it much easier for me to decide to take flame to it.
Having Captain Black Original, circa 2018–2019 (I didn’t make note of which pouch was which...
I finally found a pipe to dedicate to the following blend. Having L. J. Peretti Tashkent in a NOS (new old-stock) L. J. Peretti Straight Grain Smooth Pot, while I work on the new issue of Weird Tales.
Based on the stamping, I have my suspicions that this may be a Savinelli Straight Grain 106...
I stopped by Barclay-Rex during my lunch hour on Thursday, hoping to pick up some Germain’s from the recent drop, but they were sold out (probably would’ve been prohibitively expensive, anyway—I like the idea of supporting a local business, but their tins seem to be two to three times the price...
