Tobacco Ideas for a Cigar Smoker?
I was a cigar smoker before I moved to pipes. Aro’s didn’t please me at all. Still don’t. Nightcap was the blend that got my attention. Currently my favorite cigar leaf blends are Billy Budd, GLP’s Robusto, and Habana daydream.- thefishguy

Avoiding The Charring Light
I like a cooler flame for the charring light, think match or zippo. It takes a bit longer but gives me a toasted start instead of burnt. I’ll use butane for relights to start it back up quicker.- thefishguy

Cleaning Pipes
Warm water and a bristled cleaner on my briar pipes after 5-6 smokes. Cobs get a little 100% ethanol and a good scrubbing with a bristle when they get funky. All my pipes get swabbed out with a dry doubled over Blitz cleaner after every smoke. Haven’t ruined a pipe yet.- thefishguy

Piping Pet Peeves
I hate pipe tobacco that gets worse with age. I have some Mississippi River special reserve that I really loved when I first started smoking it. I’ve kept it in a bale top jar for the last couple of years and it’s flavor has been reduced to hot air and cheap cigarettes. I keep it around...- thefishguy
