No, it's Not Just You: Music has Gotten Worse

The music industry specifically, and entertainment in general, is run by a few narcissistic people/corporations.

    Anyone use Nasal Snuff?

Although once a upon a time I practiced Zen, but today I tried Zyn, and found it revolting. Yuk! The 3g version tasted disgusting, burned my cheek and tongue, and was somewhat disorienting. Granted I tried it around 9am. But this is coming from someone who LOVES War Horse, Ten Russians, and...

    Anyone use Nasal Snuff?

Never snuffed, but I love Christmas smells and deep icy pine scents, and musty barns. Lived in India awhile and so looking for similar experiences too, something that might bring those memories back sharper and more vivid. Browsing Mr.Snuff, I might grab: Old English, Original and Genuine...

    Anyone use Nasal Snuff?

Can anyone confirm whether Mr. Snuff might ship to Washington state?

Old Toby from The Country Squire

Northwest Trek is delicious and introduced me to English blends. Old Toby is hands down my favorite aromatic, always a delight with complexity.

    Poetry Perusal While Pipe Smoking

Reading Alistair MacLeod is a wonderful experience while piping. He writes prose, but like a poet. I'm partial to the Tang poets myself, but W.S. Merwin is among my favorite American poets. Superb in the spring.

Fall Pipe Smoking is the Best

October in Central Washington is about when I trade lighter blends for darker, fuller experiences. White Knight and 965 go into hibernation while Old Toby and Nightcap emerge. Ten Russians remain constant for my afternoon pipe, with War Horse Green a treat for snack or dessert.

    What are You Reading Now?

Sounds like you might appreciate W.G. Sebald. If you haven't read him, consider Rings of Saturn or Austerlitz. Additionally, if you're interested in learning more about Romania during communism, consider Saint of the Prisons. Cheers!

    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

From my local antique store, I found a beautiful briar root "Capri" Savinelli pipe (624). It's my favorite pipe so far, handling perfectly for a cool and tasty smoke. However, for my birthday, I'm thinking of a rusticated Peterson Pub. Never piped a Peterson system, yet. What are your...

    Desert Island Blends

One to be lost forever: Early Morning Pipe One to be perpetually enjoyed with others: Maltese Falcon One to be consumed alone, and to rule them all: Nightcap

Country Squire's Middle Earth Series to be Renamed.

Shame. Old Toby is my favorite aromatic, hands down. However, I don't care what they call it, it'll always be Old Toby to me.

***What Are You Smoking, August 2023?***

Okay, so the smoke cleared and the temperatures lowered so I cracked open a new tin of 10 Russians. Now, I've never piped 10 Russians but many reviews grabbed my attention. I piped several hours ago and immediately, I enjoyed the salty, peppery leather and caramel of this blend. Definitely a lot...

    All Day Blends

As others have posted, I really don't pipe all day long but just once or twice a day, and break every three or four to give my tongue a rest. Generally, I prefer alternating every other day between a high in vitamin N blend and full English blend. For instance, I'll pipe War Horse Green...

***What Are You Smoking, August 2023?***

It's 107 during the day and about 90 at night. So, nothing yet. But winds should blow into the valley by Friday, putting a pinch of my first tin of White Knight into my bowl.
