    Tobacco Reviews Website Update

Still seems like a decent site, though perhaps a bit too much going on compared to how it was before

    MIght Be Time to Quit?

I find that my tastes change quite drastically, particularly when I haven't smoked in a long time. I was quite a committed pipe smoker and now I'm becoming more of an occasional fine cigar smoker instead. After smoking a few good Cubans, I find it hard to return to the pipe as the flavor is much...

Recommend Moisture-Ready Blends With Mild Nic?

Thanks for the lengthy reply! I agree that I should be open to drying, but for a daily smoke, I would enjoy one that is more or less ready to smoke. I find that aging tobacco removes all of the flavors that I enjoy, particularly with my favorite blends, so I prefer smoking straight from a tin...

Recommend Moisture-Ready Blends With Mild Nic?

Hi! I don't enjoy drying my tobacco, and I don't like flakes. I would appreciate recommendations on a tobacco that is mild in nicotine and is ready to smoke from the tin or pouch. Some of my favorite blends in terms of flavor: Skiff Mixture Commonwealth Sir Walter Raleigh I don't mind a...

    Drying Tobacco- One Method

I find that cracking a tin so that it isn't vacuum sealed and leaving it alone for a few weeks dries pretty well. You have to be patient though, so hopefully have other tins to smoke :)

Menthol Cigarettes Banned By FDA. Can Pipe Tobacco Be Next?

Fair enough! I did have fun pushing that idea to an extreme though  I will definitely agree about people who can't cook. I know a few people who are so oblivious in regards to food, its painful to think about.

    Cellaring tobacco - questions

Make sure you enjoy cellared tobacco before you overdo it. I prefer freshly cracked tins over old jars personally. Don't make my mistake if you aren't sure!

Menthol Cigarettes Banned By FDA. Can Pipe Tobacco Be Next?

I know right! Can't believe there are people out there who don't even sew their own suits, blend their own perfumes, distill their own spirits or, listen to this one, craft their own prescription lenses! Weak fools, what could they possibly be doing with their time? Corporate slaves!

Smoking Half a Bowl and Finishing it Later

I can only smoke this way as I am quite sensitive to nicotine (and don't want to build a tolerance anyway). And for me it's more like a third of a bowl at a time. Yes, leaving it for a few hours can improve the taste for sure. Especially since most blends can come a bit too moist, and a bit of...

    Pipe Cleaners

Wow, I didn't realize people use so many per bowl! I use one per smoke and after about a dozen bowls I will do a deep clean which takes up about 5 or 6 and use rum.

Welcome from another Montrealer! I bought a discount briar first, I dislike cobs, so don't buy anything you aren't attracted to.

How Long Should a Pipeful Last?

Most blends are fine to continue smoking after leaving it in the bowl for a while, half smoked. I find that overly-moist blends are even better when packed and finished hours later, even up to 24h. So you don't have to finish the bowl right away. I hear burleys are a kind of exception as the...

    Smoking Frequency

I am quite an infrequent smoker too. I'm not huge on nicotine and so even one bowl I can make last several hours by taking breaks. Just get to know what feels right for you!

    Frequent Changes in Taste?

Hi! Do any of you find that your tastes can change drastically over time -- and that mild blends can seem tasteless and airy at times, and at other times flavorful and tasty? I think this happens to me when I take breaks for over a week or I try strong new blends. It can be a bit frustrating as...
