@Bassman65 as you are now the resident IMCO lighter expert, I'd appreciate your knowledge. I spotted an IMCO 6700, with 5 stars, listed as: NEW IMCO 6700 TRIPLEX SUPER PETROL LIGHTER VINTAGE TRENCH LIGHTER 6800 5-stars. Is this a newer version of the 6700? Appreciate your thoughts.

    200 Smokes in the Owl

@Chasing Embers I love your Owl Pipe. He's a great looking dude. And coloring up very nicely. Nice idea you had about keeping a tally on how many smokes you've had with Mr. Owl.

    Molto Dolce

Same here. One of the better arros, I think.

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

@greeneyes Yes it is the pair of GBD's. I don't know, perhaps it might've been better to have left the damaged one "as is", without the Cu ring. The point being that it'll never get smoked (I seriously doubt it would be), so the ring serves no purpose in that case. Conversely, for the...

This appears to be his preferred method of repair. The "old copper tubing" method.

Neither had I for that matter. But using the Zippo flint in my IM Corona v using a Dunhill flint in my Dunhill Unique is chalk & cheese. I have developed calluses on my thumb from striking the IM Corona... Whereby the Dunhill Unique is so very smooth. I should also point out that the thumb wheel...

@Bassman65 Funny you mention using Zippo flints. I've been using them in my IM Corona old-boy and have noticed that the striking wheel has become increasingly more difficult to rotate, I figured that it maybe because of the harder Zippo flints.

Thanks for the info' here. Not sure if I'd ever heard about them before.

I believe the one I just bought is an Austrian made lighter. Gasoline fueled. The guy selling them has a batch of NOS ones.

Just bought this one. Would appear to be the same as Bassman's. I think they were promotional lighters for Chesterfield cigarettes.

It's Austrian - it won't break. HAHA! ok, fair point. And good to know that Zippo flints will work in them too. Thanks Mike. 👍

These look interesting. Just been browsing the "bay" for them. Are spare parts an easy find?

    Replacing a Shamrock Tenon.

@RustiePyles CPG Yup! a very neat & tidy repair. Nicely done, sir!

    Dunhill Root Briar 1952

I suspect that it is probably a little higher quality that what you would buy new today for about eight hundred bucks. I'm not forgiving about Dunhill's pricing. The evils of marketing. I totally agree with you. Although I would say that the earlier Dunhill's were of far superior quality...

My "Unbranded" Dunhill Score of the Week

That number is too blurred for me to make out, George. I'm seeing "2" or "3" or "8", and possibly anything else in between!

My "Unbranded" Dunhill Score of the Week

NICE! I could see the patent number, but couldn't make it out too well, nor could I see a date. Great find, buddy.
