    Nicotine Absorption

The Tobacco Truth documents contain a lot of research, patents and experiments. Many of the processes they test do not find their way into production, and many more are not used by more than one company. As a hobby producer there is a wealth of information that can be adapted for home use...

    Nicotine Absorption

I do have a basic understanding of chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry. I understand what I read in these documents but have not read much about Burley, Cigar leaf or Dark Kentucky. I have only looked briefly at Virginia curing, and an even a smaller amount for Oriental. The curing...

    Nicotine Absorption

I am not very well versed in the chemistry of the different curing processes. I do know that Virginia naturally has a lot of sugars (after the cure) that get reduced in the aging process. What causes a final pH before amelioration I don't know. The fermentation process in Virginias will produce...

    Nicotine Absorption

pH may be a factor davek. I have read that cigar smoke is more alkaline than cigarette smoke, although I do not know why. Here is an excerpt you may find interesting. From TobaccoTruthDoc WHAT AMMONIA DOES AMMONIA IN TOBACCO REACTS WITH REDUCING SUGARS TO FORM NONVOLATILE FLAVOR PRECURSORS...

Time to Panic for Real!!!!!!!! KFC Has Run out of Chicken!

It looks like DHL was under contract to reduce CO2 emissions. Maybe if they were allowed to step on the gas they could've delivered the chicken. From DHL Press Release Key areas of focus will be reducing logistics-related emissions to net zero over the life of the contract We want to deliver a...

Which Would You Rather Have Back

Syrian Latakia would be my vote. There would be a potential for a greater variety of blends as it could be used by every manufacturer. McClelland reds are mainly just made into McClelland blends and some blends from B&Ms. Even McClelland made some good blends with Syrian Latakia.

Breaking News From the BBC: CIA Subterfuge And Ocean Mining.

Breaking news from 1974. Howard Hughes was involved in a lot of covert government activity. I bet his participation made the Soviets even more suspicious. Submarines are kept very secret, the ability to salvage the intelligence in the sub that probably wasn't destroyed due to the accident...

    Nicotine Absorption

"It would be interesting, then, to find a flavor-neutral way to lower the pH in order to reduce the free nicotine." Burley tobacco can be affected by adding an acid in order to reduce nicotine absorption. This is one of the better documents I found on the subject. TruthTobaccoDoc Citric acid...

    Health: An Alternative to Cigarettes?

I probably should've written Virginia No. 1, instead of #1. It is a MacBaren tobacco that can be bought in bulk for affordability. I have not had it from the the tin. I have been meaning to try some Daughters & Ryan tobacco for the occasional inhale but have no experience with them.

Are Antivaxxers Going To Be Next?

Another point about this article is that the tobacco companies signed their rights away in a settlement. The availability of information has been challenged in the past, with most outcomes favoring the freedom of speech. This article may indicate that more challenges to availability of knowledge...

    Health: An Alternative to Cigarettes?

I enjoy the nicotine buzz. If I want something similar to a cigarette I will usually pack my smaller pipe (5-9 minute smoke) with a tobacco that isn't harsh. I inhale the smoke into my lungs. I like Virginia #1 for this purpose.

Are Antivaxxers Going To Be Next?

Yeah, I can't say my experience is based on anything but chance warren. I have only seen evidence that flu shots provide protection.

Are Antivaxxers Going To Be Next?

The point of the thread is not to be for or against vaccinations. It was to bring to light the tactical similarities that started with the campaign against tobacco by public health officials.

Are Antivaxxers Going To Be Next?

I am in agreement with your experience perdurabo. I know an emergency room doctor that does not get the flu shot and he is around hundreds of cases of the flu each year. Personally, the only time I ever got the flu was within a week after the shot. I haven't had one in 7 years and have not had...

Are Antivaxxers Going To Be Next?

What I thought was interesting was the quote "the public health community might learn from the approach of anti-tobacco organizations" The Truth Initiative they referred to was created by the 1998 MSA. In other words it is government funded from the earmarked settlement monies. The public...

Are Antivaxxers Going To Be Next?

The lessons learned by public health officials in their war on tobacco are already being considered for use against others groups. From the article Are 'Vaccine Skeptics' Responsible for Flu Deaths? medpagetoday Morse suggested that perhaps there is much that the public health community might...

    RE: Rule # 6

Guns are too hot a topic for most discussions. I would recommend refraining from it.
