    Cheap Pipes

    I’m apparently a connoisseur of both. ?

    Cheap Pipes

Yes. Basically what happens is this: every once in a while I decide to dust one of them off bc I’m an idiot & have this thought that all of a sudden this garbage pipe will magically work. I always end up dumping the bowl out & throwing the thing back in the drawer in disgust. My very first pipe...

    Cheap Pipes

Indeed. I love my cobs. Just really into them in the last 12 months, & they’ve all become quite special to me. Through the winter, I smoked them a lot. Of course, when I wrote the post I was mainly thinking about a few Spitfires by Lorenzo I have and some unidentified pipes I can’t remember...

    Accidentally Removing a Finish

I have a 20yo La Rocca I absolutely love. It started having a similar problem this year.

    Cheap Pipes

My collection is a mixed bag. 20-30 pipes. I’ve got a handful of nice pipes. $100-$200 range. Most of my pipes are in the $65-$90 range I’d say. And then there’s a handful of them that are in the $0-$50 range. Now, admittedly, I most regularly smoke the “upper middle class” pipes. And...

    Welcome home, Central KY.

    Stacked Blends?

To me, these two blends are pretty similar. Everybody goes on about the presence of the brown cavendish in MM giving it a sweet tinge. I like MM a lot, but I never really notice the sweetness.

    Stacked Blends?

Yeah. In the past, I’ve just blended them up together like a mystery blend. I like the parfait analogy. Donkey taught me in the first Shrek movie that everybody loves a parfait.

    Stacked Blends?

I’ve the last bit of MM965 sitting in the jar for the past few weeks. It’s only about half bowl’s worth. Lately I’ve moved to smoking Balkan Sasieni almost exclusively. But that MM sitting there, taking up a whole jar has been irking me for a couple days. I figured I’d just stop in the B&M and...

You May Say I’m a Reamer, Am I the Only One?

Thank you! You’re only the second one to notice.

Lifes Been a Little Rough This Last Year.

Deepest condolences, and I pray your daughters get well. That’s a lovely pipe.

    Virginia Doozy

Just thinking about the kind of research that had to have been done to be able to compare the flavor of Virginias to hot wildebeest farts.

    Wood Match Annoyance

Like the OP, I also absolutely love lighting up with matches. And until this past Christmas, that’s almost exclusively what I did. There’s just something different about it. But I’ve also experienced the problem of the match head falling off. Twofold, as it were. Sometimes it would fall of the...

Menthol Cigarettes Banned By FDA. Can Pipe Tobacco Be Next?

My take: that elephant (cigars) will ultimately be safe. Bc politicians will still want to smoke them to celebrate their heartless election “wins,” and on their taxpayer-funded daily golf outings.

    Advantages of Factory Pipes

I find this topic interesting. And relatedly, I’ve been a musician my whole life and worked some in the music biz on the independent-ish side of things. (Independent vs industry — those lines have been quite blurred in the last 10-20 years, but I digress.) I’ve often seen this discussion come up...

    What About Pipes Do You

There’s a lot I enjoy smoking a pipe that falls more into the “aesthetic experience” of it all. Not the aesthetics of the pipe itself, though I do enjoy that. But the more nuanced aesthetic of the experience. A sensory thing. The smells. Tastes, etc. But I really like the feel of a pipe in my...

    Help Dating an Early Dunhill

Oh man. I just read the post. I was way off. Disregard my above recommendations.

    Help Dating an Early Dunhill

Hey, I didn’t read the post, I just read the title. But thought I’d weigh in anyway. I don’t know the Dunhills, but I imagine they’re a family that’s been in your area for a while. I’m assuming this bc you said you’re trying to date an “early Dunhill.” So I’m guessing you mean either a really...

You May Say I’m a Reamer, Am I the Only One?

Idk man. My dog’s got it pretty good. I’d trade places with him.

You May Say I’m a Reamer, Am I the Only One?

Is it actually called a reamer? I’ve always called it “the shovel.”
