    Question about Prince Albert

My every day smoke is Dominican PA and 5 Brothers, sometimes I mix hg2000 or captain black with 5 bros too. I prefer the Dominican PA actually to the old pouches I had tried, I really want to nab a tub of Carter Hall at Ingles sometime. I think I found my burley gold standard with that pa/5 bros...

    Question about Prince Albert

Very interesting! I had read another comment on (I believe) a review on p&c saying that PA had Turkish leaf in it (it could have been you possibly). I was only aware of it being burley and cavendish. I'd love to know if you have any links online to where I could read more. Whatever they do, I...

The Decline of Prince Albert and Carter Hall

I have the ready rubbed match. To be honest I like the flavor but it's been inconsistent for me. It's a very light subtle flavor either way, I noticed it needs drying quite a while to smoke how I want it to. I think the casing is part of the reason I have trouble with it. All the Sutliff blends...

The Decline of Prince Albert and Carter Hall

How is the George Washington compared to PA ?

The Decline of Prince Albert and Carter Hall

The US made PA had a chemical taste unless I smoked ridiculously light....was hard to enjoy to be honest. Maybe the tubs were better. Didn't have that issue with CH. I have smoked half a tub of the new DR Prince and I've enjoyed it a lot more honestly. Want to get a new tub of CH next. Could...

    Prince Albert tub freshness question

Well it looked secure and the last time I opened it I always made sure to close it tight but I pushed down and just noticed I heard it move some which made me think maybe from age or something it was pushed up. I think the seal is still good because it does come up a bit trying to push it down...

    Prince Albert tub freshness question

So I've read good things about the sta-fresh Middleton tubs. I have a tub of Prince Albert I got last September and I haven't been smoking as much lately and thought the lid was closed fully, but when I pressed down on it yesterday I heard it go down some more and was wondering if it had aged...

Sickness messed up my taster - will it ever come back?

That's a good description. It's like a burnt, weird funky taste. Thanks everyone for the comments, I really appreciate it. I have hope it will return to normal, but I'm going to be patient!

Sickness messed up my taster - will it ever come back?

So I caught a really bad illness, COVID or the flu (not sure which) my gf's brother tested positive for the flu 2 times in the past month, so it may have been that. Anyhow, a few weeks ago when I caught it I stopped smoking for a few days, and when I finally smoked my pipe it tasted absolutely...

Savinelli KS 121 Estate Pipe....Worth getting??

Saw an estate Savinelli 121 KS and was curious about it. I have not bought it yet, and I admit I've never owned a Savinelli and it seems like a great deal (the guy's asking $60) when I did a quick google search on their site a KS121 was 200 euros, but looking at them used maybe it's not the...

    Who is Doug Valitchka?

Very nice meerschaum lined? I picked up 2 Kaywoodie estates off recommendations from users of this forum and love them.

    Who is Doug Valitchka?

Great answer thanks. I noticed that burl the pipes were sitting on from the pipedia page looked exactly the same as the seller on ebay so I was googling him. Very interesting

Removing Stubborn Dr. Grabow Aluminum Filter/Stinger

Thanks guys, I tried heating it and no luck yet. It might need a good soak. I mean, I don't mind leaving it on if I have to but with this Dublin shape the draw is a little too restricted at the top of bowls especially. But I can see the gunk and tar in between it, so I'll have to work on it.

Removing Stubborn Dr. Grabow Aluminum Filter/Stinger

Hi all, I have a Dr. Grabow Westbrook Dublin just like this (Except it has a softer stem) but I wasn't aware until I saw these photos online you could actually remove the stinger. I know you can't on say, a Kaywoodie (of which I recently bought 2 estates) but I would love to try to remove this...

    Good Money Sweet Twist

This is a great post. Sorry to resurrect from the dead but I wonder if one is able to order direct from them. Doubtful as it is chewing tobacco per fda guidelines. I could find 2 rc Owen twists at Ingles but now they are all gone. Sad news. That was the only place I could find the rc Owen. I did...

    Found Prince Albert while Shopping.

What laws or legislation did they pass and why are they bringing them in? I don't go to Asheville much but haven't read anything about it so was curious.
